All Things Transfer Portal News

Ummm, I'm not sure you know how player comparison's work. He runs like Mike Alstott, Rex Burkhead or Peyton Hillis - - those are the only apt comparisons.

No, I'd take him in a heartbeat. I would probably prefer someone who only has 1 year left just so it doesn't ruffle the feathers of the young guns in the RB room, but he's so good, I'd ignore that preference.

Steele also catches the ball really well and could envision wrinkles where he would line up in the slot.
They did that to Charlie Jones during the broadcast tonight. Compared him to Edelman, Welker, and Amendola I believe.

White WR can only be compared to white WRs, white RBs can only be compared to white RBs, every black QB is a threat to run and should only be compared with other black QBs.

Wow! Bob you are asking for trouble.

These three are quick not speedsters like Jones.

He saw Bama didn't make the playoffs and said 🏃‍♂️see ya
It's crazy. 3 years at Bama and decides for a change. Will be interesting to see where he goes. He's a Bama native.

Like Fleck said, (Not saying he's recruiting this guy) they are traveling to one visit and then another name drops in the portal and they have to change plans and see another player. Every day is a new twist and turn for all these programs.

It is a shame that there is no way to truly know what motivates players to go into the portal. I mean in a lot of cases it is easy to guess when it is a player buried on the depth chart and seeking playing time. But there are so many other cases where the reason for going into the portal isn't all that obvious.

Thielen is a 4.5 40 guy. Or at least in his prime he was. Maybe not at his current age.

He ran a 4.45 at a regional combine and it was one of the reasons the Vikings gave him a look. He has definitely lost a step over the last few years, but Thielen had a lot of speed in his prime.

247Sports trying to keep up with all the guys in the portal. Unbelievable how many kids are taking advantage of the 1-time free transfer. So many factors:

  • Playing time
  • coach relationship
  • $$
  • education
  • grad school
  • location
  • winning
  • development
  • ego stroked

If there is a situation where a team can try to buy their way into the top echelon of College Football this is probably the case where it could happen. I am sure Deon will have no trouble finding ways to come up with whatever money is needed to get whatever players he wants.

He will be able to leverage the NIL system in a way most can't and you know there is no chance he cares one bit about playing fair or by the rules.

Just need to look at Texas A&M to see buying all the top 18 year olds doesn't translate to winning games

This is actually a really interesting point. I wonder how many kids just want to soak up the attention at another shot at being recruited?

No chance? Based on what?
Making some assumptions here I guess but can't really see a multi-million dollar former Pro football player being overly concerned about making sure they don't break any rules along the way.

Fortunately for him there are not that many rules to break anymore in the new college football landscape where you can pay players out in the open as opposed to having to hide it.

Maybe I am wrong, but I highly doubt the student part of student athlete will be a top priority in Coach Prime's program.

Dorian singer is transferring from Arizona he had 1000 receiving yards and is from mn (I believe went to tartan?) any shot we get him?

Bad take.

maybe? though all crystal ball predictions (Including our very own Ryan Burns) has him going to Texas

Wayzata kid that went to Syracuse in 2021. Listed at 280 so putting on weight might be an issue. Red-shirted and hasn't seen the field in 2 seasons.
