All Things 2022 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

I like the celebration but yet I am shocked the NFL has not stopped this. If you tackle someone and stare at them after the tackle there is a 50/50 chance you get a penalty. Here you have the entire defensive unit running to an end zone to celebrate.

I’ve always thought it’s a little ridiculous the Florida teams get to wear their road unis at home too.

I'll take the win.

This has to be one of the worst 5-1 teams I've seen.
Agreed. I’m not complaining about the record. With that said, I’m not exactly brimming with confidence either. This defense isn’t that good, and the “shell” coverage is infuriating to watch. It’s like watching a soft prevent D all game long.

My optimism lies in the fact that the offense can be much better if they get more consistent, so there is much potential there. But at the end of the day, Cousins will piss down his leg come prime time/playoff time. But I can still enjoy it while it lasts.

I didn’t watch the game was Thielen the guy that caught it for a yard.
They lined up 3 wide to the left. Two guys went up field near the sideline and theilen went underneath them. Your basic clear out. The ball was a little high, theilen caught it, and a dolphin came up quickly and stopped him short.

Then yes that has to be run better to get a first down.

I would take Burrow, Herbert, Allen, Mahomes, Murray, and probably Lawrence over Cousins. So 6 for sure, and I'd probably take Watson too despite all of the baggage.

I get that Murray is a headcase, but we've seen headcase QBs win at a high level before. He has talent that most other QBs don't have. He also has a pretty poor WR group when Hopkins has been out, but when Hopkins plays, that offense is hard to stop. Good thing Hopkins returns the week before the Vikings plays them...

I also don't get the 'not durable' comment. He's started 50 of 52 possible games in his career.

Ugghhhh.... Kyler Murray continues to be just plain terrible for the Cardinals. Nine (9) points today against a horrendous Seattle defense that had been giving up almost 35 points a game.

The decision to pay him last offseason is likely going to result in a complete house-cleaning in Phoenix, which is probably long overdue really. Keim has drafted very poorly (GM) and as much as I was completely behind Kliff K for head coach, it's just not working out.

there was one sequence where the Vikes had a 3-and-out. Kirk came over to the sidelines and it looked like he and O'Connell were having a pretty heated discussion.

the TV boys were speculating that Jefferson might have run the wrong route - but again, that's pure speculation.

Twitter immediately started comparing it to Kirk and Zim having that pushing match last season.

Non-issue, in my opinion. They have let the Cowboys (or anyone else) do it for over half a century.

I've always thought Kliff was a very overrated coach. What has he ever accomplished? He was below .500 in college with Mahomes as his QB.

I'm still not writing off Murray yet. He wasn't good today although he still had 100 yds rushing. Their WR group is below average without Hopkins and they don't have a running game besides Murray right now.

Murray and the Cardinals offense with Hopkins was nearly unstoppable last year. Without him they looked a lot like they do without him this year. How good has Brady been without his top WRs? How good has Rodgers been without Devante Adams this year? Not good.

If Murray continues to look terrible even with Hopkins, you may be right. But he's back next week so we won't have to wait long to find out.

I made the brilliant decision to trade away Jalen Hurts before the season in one of my fantasy leagues because I also had Murray. I did not expect Hurts to be this good and Murray to be this bad, even without Hopkins.

Apparently bad luck isn’t why I suck at fantasy football so much.

Hopkins is cooked. He's been declining, and father time won't do him any favors.

The Cardinals, like the Broncos, torpedoed their franchises for nearly a decade by paying their overrated and over the hill QBs outrageous money.

I wanna believe, I really do, but damn. He took the field early in the 4th, down 10 to a very poor Seattle defense and I remember thinking "THIS is exactly the kind of situation you pay a guy top-5 QB money for", and they did pretty much nothing.

I guess for me it's just too much about the intangibles, or lack thereof. Everything about him since he arrived in PHX off the field screams "not a leader". If he had the drive and the leadership of a Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts (who I'm coming around on), I would still be all in. But Murray just seems like a child, a pouter, a spoiled bastard.

At the very least, whether he can get the ship turned around or not, paying him a year earlier than they had to was a big mistake.

I don't disagree with you on most of that. I also think it's the coaches job to coach that out of him, something KK is not capable of.

He's still an elite talent and just turned 25. I'd be patient for at least the rest of this season and see what happens when he has more talent around him.

I'll keep saying, the Cardinals were 7-0 last year and averaging 32 ppg with Hopkins healthy last season. They were 4-7 in the games he was injured, try to play injured, or missed, averaging 21 ppg. That's a huge difference.

Dolphins played great defense and the Vikes still managed to score 24 and win a road game. Let’s all calm down a bit.
Unless you're an Eagles, Bills, or maybe a few others fan .... THIS.

There aren't going to be many, if any, blowout wins for the Vikings, and a lot of teams, this year.

Take the ugly wins. We were losing them last year.
