All Things 2022 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

Twins leading 1-0 and Joe Ryan give up a grand slam. of course he did.

Honestly just concede tomorrow and get ready for the Cleveland series which will decide the season.

That is a sorry excuse for a Yankees lineup and yet the twins just can’t help but soil themselves and lose games. I have switched to watching Down Periscope.

Kiner-Falefa has tripled his HR total in the past two days.

Massive changes to philosophy and staff need to be made this offseason.

Yes they need to stop shopping in the bargain bin for starting pitchers. They need to stop trading for pitchers with known injuries. They also need to figure out why the hell everyone on their team gets hurt when all they do is preach rest days and health.

There’s also an issue with coaching and philosophy. Clearly limiting pitchers innings isn’t preventing injuries. Situational hitting is atrocious. And this might be the worst base running team in the league.

Never good to walk the 7-8-9 pitchers just to get to the top of the order. By the way Kelsey Grammer was successful and everyone lived happily ever after.

Not that he would help this team much, if at all, but it baffles my mind that Mo Ibrahim can rupture an Achilles tendon and be running at full speed less than a year later, but Randy Dobnak can injure a finger and more than a year later, he's still on the shelf.

it’s on his Uber driving ✋
Also know as Bobby Bonilla syndrome.

The sad thing is game 1 was over the minute they tied it 3-3 and we all knew it. But 4 errors and the horrific base running the 10th was just laughable. This is not a good, well coached or well run team. Gut it and start over, Jim.

IKF has more HR's with runners in scoring position in this series than Correa has this season. Sad.

There won't be any changes to philosophy if Falvine remains in charge. So they shouldn't.

Not all out changes. Analytics will always be a big part of their decisions but there can still be changes within that. A lot of teams use analytics but still do things differently.

Analytics are fine. But their core beliefs on how they handle starting pitchers etc. are not going to change IMO. They will get a different pitching coach, I'd imagine, but it will be one that believes what they do. Letting them continue is kicking the can down the road just as the 2021 Vikings did, IMO. Wasted years.

Rocco doing way too much with infield shifts. Has been a problem ever since he got here.
I don’t get it with two outs. The east play is to first so play normal. Even with the infield in the play is still to first as that is an easier throw and catch plus you don’t have to tag the runner. They got a ball that should have ended the inning except the they were playing in and basically eliminating range for arguably the best defensive shortstops in baseball.

So ends the Austin Davis era with the twins. What an absolute waste of a roster spot for 7 days for no reason.
