Ky Thomas enters portal

I just heard about this. Saw several Kansas St fans randomly telling Fleck to “go f himself” and didn’t get what they were talking about. If true, they cheated and got caught. Not Fleck’s fault.
Is there a link somewhere, like a K-State message board, or here on GH, or whatever, that actually states what the allegation is/was? What is the actual thing they are alleged to have done?

Like, did Klieman send him a text or something?

Want to push your draft ranking up? Probably going to need another year of starting time regardless. Why not sit a year, protect your legs, and then put on a show on 2023?

Yep, most running backs have a limited number of productive carries, not all but most.
Problem is most 19/20 year olds think they are invincible so...

Not 100% sure. Just saw several tweets of K-state fans mad at Fleck. Just sounds like K-state reached out to Thomas in some capacity prior to him going into the portal and Fleck supposedly turned them in. So K-state fans are mad because they got caught.

Yep, there becomes a point of diminishing returns.

If you have good RBs, it's really insane for one RB to get absurd number of carries. It's not good for the RB, it's not great for their draft stock, and it's not super productive.

While I think Bucky is a better RB than Bryce Williams, I think 17 carries by Bucky and 8 carries by Bryce is more effective than 25 carries by Bucky in most scenarios.

K-State fans are a weird bunch. It's kind of like Texas A&M (which is a full on cult). I don't even mean it as an insult, it's just a unique fan base and school.

In which case, I will wild guess it's one of those things that everyone treats like a gray area, everyone does it, and only some actually get caught.

Saw something about K-State contacting him before he was officially in the portal. I assumed it happened all the time, but this led to a report of some sort. The report must have killed his ability to land there.

I'm reserving judgement on how I feel about this until I learn if we do the same thing....:)

Bold move by KSU. Seems likely Ky likes Kansas more and turned KSU in himself.

Oh yeah, I am sure we'd be pissed at an opposing coach if that coach did it. I actually like K-State fans, they are just a uniquely die hard and loyal bunch.

I don't get this transfer but wish him all the best.

Kansas wins two games per year. That locker room is going to be a paragon of toxic behavior and if he's any good there then they're going to run him into the ground. Would have been better to just do his time and protect his joints.

I think he is going to find out other teams have running backs too. Sevion Morrison transferred there from Nebraska already. If he goes to Kansas he’ll be one of at least three young talented rbs.

Maybe he'll change his mind now and crawl back, #5 behind 2 health question marks far better than Kansas unless he's considering basketball

"Best" is debatable. Received the most carries, therefore yards yes. Bucky or Potts would have had same if not better seasons with Ky's workload based on their avg's.
I think Ky Thomas was the 4th or 5th best running back I saw play for us this year personally. Though he did have the most yards.
I also think we had 5 running backs that all looked good.

Disagree with your analysis of Kansas. They’ve been awful for a while but they have a pretty good coach now: I expect them to be battling for 6 wins and bowl eligibility this year and to have between 4-6 wins.

Is there a possibility that OJ Fleck will take him back after the KSU tampering?

Based on the fact Ky hasn't committed anywhere yet - but has 3 P5 offers - what do people think the chances are that he comes back to the U? Classes start Tuesday, I believe

Less than 10%. No real basis, just my guess.

There could be reasons for transferring out of the U that haven’t been spoken about that cause him difficulty being able to commit even if he has offers.

Is that speculation based on something?

Based on the fact he hasn’t committed anywhere

could have a family situation and he doesn’t want to commit until it’s resolved
Could be that he isn’t sure he wants to play football anymore
Could be financial
Could be academic
Could be health related
Could be anything really

I wasn’t trying to imply anything I am just saying there are 100,000 things that could be the reason he isn’t committed anywhere yet in response to you asking if him not committed means he maybe could come back. Yeah he could come back, but he could do any number of things
