All Things 2021 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

I do not want to see the Vikes make the playoffs, because that might convince Ziggy to keep Zim and Spielman around.

I want a major shakeup of the front office.

But given how this team plays, I don't think I'll have to worry too much. There is no way this team is beating the Rams and the Packers.
They need to blow it up, at least partially.

I wish they would do something whacky and just hire Andre Patterson as their coach next season and blow it up. Even if it means eating some of Kirk's salary to pry out an asset. I would trade off anything good and start Mond next year.

If Mond stinks, we will be horrible in a year that just so happens to be the same year Bryce Young can be drafted.

If Mond doesn't stink, you have a really cheap and good QB. That's easy to build around.

Either way, rip off the damn band aid.

I feel like if they're going to blow it all up, they need to hire someone from outside the organization.

The only chance I see Zimmer back is if they win at least one playoff game. That seems highly unlikely at this point.

If Cousins were to go out due to covid, please tell me they'd play Mond and not Mannion.

If Mattison is not back, looks like Sunday could be the Kene Nwangwu show.

I don't think they want Kirk dropping back to throw the ball 40 times with Aaron Donald rushing against that vaunted offensive line.

Taysom Hill is out for the Saints this week. They will play the Dolphins starting some guy I never heard of. This could be a decent boost to the Vikings chances of backing in at 9-8.

Kirk has a broken rib apparently? This might be the end for us

Day after Christmas. Vikings have an important game at noon. Packers played and won yesterday and KFAN has Dave Sinikyn filling in for Sunday Sermons

The Vikings have placed QB Sean Mannion on Reserve/COVID-19.

Kellen Mond will backup Kirk Cousins today.

Why do people think Andre Patterson would be a good coach. I'd have more confidence if he was actually calling the defense.

Kellen Mond will never make it as an NFL quarterback. Might be Spielman's worst QB pick.

Maybe, maybe not. For a 3rd round pick, still essentially a lottery pick that could still pay out. From everything we had heard, he was always going to be a couple years away. Still unlikely he pans out, but I wouldn't rule it out 100% just yet.

In the meantime, for all the handwringing and hysteria and outrage over Kirk Cousins, particularly the screaming and shouting over how him being unvaxed would be the end of the team, here we are in Week 16 and he hasn't missed a meaningful snap of the season and he's among the league leaders for QB's in a ton of different categories.

Zimmer was brought here for defense. One of the reasons I was on board with his hire. His defense is the Achilles heal of this team. They can never get off of the field.

And that'll do it for the Vikings season. Farewell Zimmer and Spielman.
They will never do it, but start Mond twice.

This is a rebuild, although the offense has some pieces next year.

Going into today, we were drafting 19th. This loss moves us all the way up to 11. Cant move up much more from there though, which sucks.

I believe we have 2 more games of Kirk Cousins, also.

I've said it before, but Daniielle Hunter was drafted 7 years ago, and the Vikings have not drafted one player on defense since that matters in the least.

And there you have why spielman needs to go
