Official 2022 Gophers Football Recruiting Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos, Rumors

K-State is NDSU's old head coach. So if you're the QB there, you probably will hand the ball off a lot.

245mi from H-burg to the U of Minn, 342mi to K-State.

No idea what kind of QB commits/on-roster/prospects are like for K-State.

Regardless, this kid should be happy we dumped Sanford. If you like winning games, right?

So bit the bullet and did the free trial. Very vague info but they claim he is there for a last minute official visit.

At the same time you look at places like Twitter and there is no indication there what so ever that he is wavering. Guess we will have to wait and see what happens.
Actually, good for him.

Last second change ... sure, that probably deserves to take one last look at a place you were a maybe on before you committed to the U.

Use up your official visits. You can't take them with you, and they really take you out on the town.

Would be great if KG21 would provide some proof of any kind to back up his post. At this point he just tossed a grenade and fled the scene.

I find it hard to believe Knuth is taking visits this late in the process but also don't know why the poster would just make it up. So if there is confirmation of it would be interesting to see it.
It's because he's a member of GI and is posting stuff from there on here.

Did the same thing as @Goldteam before that account was banned here.

All is fair game in the recruiting wars. The K-State coach may be pulling a Bret Bielema/Frank Ragnow deal at the last minute.

Maybe he is guaranteeing him to be the Man, ultimately the starter.

Did the Annexstad/Clark transfers hurt in negative recruiting?

If Clark and annextad are leaving because Athan is the heir apparent then it might not be a good place for a QB to come

I would say that it would help. He’d be higher up the depth chart day 1.
His redshirt freshman year he could be looking at being #2 on the depth chart.

If Knuth signs on the 17th I like our odds…if he waits until the second period all bets are off.

Chris Klieman may be using Trey Lance as a weapon to flip Jacob Knuth. He is selling K-State as a surer path to the NFL. The Gophers suddenly have a low-hanging fruit ripe for the picking.

If Chris Klieman puts in a few negative spins to cast doubt, he may win.

PJ fleck is in a very difficult defensive position. He and KC better jet on to Sioux Falls SD.

Ok? Aside from being the head coach what role did he have in Lance’s development? He has a history coaching defense and his OC wasn’t at ND with him.

They were just there Dec. 8th.

Is he going to brag about the QB position averaging 10 passing TDs a year?

I like KState, don’t get me wrong. I married a cheerleader from there and wear their apparel. I’ve been to several games there. I cheer for them. It’s a great place. But I think we are in good shape with Knute. I hope so anyways.

Yeah, but I’m pretty sure he already heard the sale pitch from KSU when he committed here.

I wonder.

We know PJ said “Tanner knows he’ll have to earn his starting spot etc etc” was that before or after Clark and Zac entered the portal?

i wonder if Knuth was originally told hed have a chance at winning the job, but then when the other QBs entered the portal other things were heard by him.

who knows though.

If someone tells that to a high school senior, and he believes that he has a chance to win the job over a 13th year starter, then I would question the kids intelligence. Maybe for the backup spots but there has to be some sort of realistic expectations.

Next year was going to be Morgan with
Annexstad being the 2. Annexstad wants the opportunity to play at the next level. He loves MN and everything this school and the coaching staff has done for him. He just believes he has a better shot at getting to the next level by having the chance to play 2 years instead of 1. Yes, he’s is 1 Morgan injury away from starting. I get it. Bet he had to do what was best for him. Clark wasn’t ever going to get that chance.

If the kid wants to go to K-State so be it. I’m not worried in the least. It means he wasn’t good enough to compete at Minnesota. He would be going to an inferior program that plays in an inferior conference.

Not sure if posted

K State signed a 4 star QB last year. There is no sure path to a starting spot there either, he would have a fight on his hand at either place. Hopefully, he sticks to his commitment.

I wonder how Maxx Duggan feels turning down the Gophers and going to TCU instead.

I'm hoping Athan can be the man. If he is, Knuth doesn't matter. Who knows on Athan, though?

Yeah it makes a ton of sense. His recruiter is gone, probably brings some doubts. Hopefully going on other visits affirms that minnesota is where he wants to be, and he’s able to sign with complete confidence that he’s making the right decision
