Minnesota High School Football Section Championship Matchups

Does the A-H district really care that much about Coon Rapids? Would think they care more about the richer schools, frankly.
Disagree with he premise of your post. Doubt most school districts neglect their lower income schools. In fact they may require more attention.

Either way, AH doesn't have any rich schools. They are all pretty middle class. Andover is the lowest free lunch rate but it's not rich by any means.

100% accurate.

What's with all the hatred?
Nope, no hatred here. Just having fun with a clown who thinks a little more of himself than is merited. A hater is the guy who, at the first sign you do not accept his premise without question, and without explaining or defending his premise, goes immediately to "if you don't see it my way you are not worth talking to."

But then, the self-annointed superiors amongst us are often quite insecure.

Of course not. You are correct.

The "idea", according to SG, is that the AH "greased the hands" of the MSHSL to cheat the system on behalf of CR. Because, obviously, they care so much more about CR than the others.

Well I did say "richer", not "rich". It may not be as consistent as western Plymouth, but there is plenty of upper middle class homes throughout the AH boundary. Andover, Ham Lake, and certainly other parts.

Not familiar with northern BP or Champlin, but I think that is also similar.

If you are working a part time job to make rent for your family it is hard to come to practice on time.
If you aren’t academically eligible you can’t play.
If you have population moving in and out of your school throughout the school year you invest time developing players than are at another school 5 months later.

if you really can’t see the challenges poverty presents a football program you aren’t even worth talking to
Football also takes place in the summer, into fall. Some kids don’t even know where they might live come school start.

So, kids less affluent due to poor parenting are also less athletic? Less competitive? Maybe kids just somehow play better if the school building is newer.

Hard to believe kids of elite grifters are born football players but no one else is.
If their parents aren't pushing them and their parents aren't home making dinner for them etc, it's no surprise its tougher.

I would bet most exceptional athletes even from extremely underprivileged backgrounds have at least one exceptional parent doing everything they can for their kid. Expecting a kid, even the most athletically gifted kid, to be able to pull it together with no support is frankly rediculous.

You are agreeing with me. First sentence in my post said "due to poor parenting ... ".

  • In 6A Maple Grove knocks off Eden Prairie 35-3 to make Prep Bowl for first time.
  • Kasson-Mantorville scores with :09 left to beat Becker in 4A
  • In 2A Chatfield scores with 2:21 left to beat Barnesville. Chatfield QB was disqualified after getting 2 Unsportsmanlike penalties.
  • In 9-Man Leroy-Ostrander dominated 49-0.
Section 1, (SE MN) will have 3 teams in the Prep Bowl After yesterday. They could get a rep in 3A and 1A as well with Plainview-Elgin-Millville and Rushford-Peterson both in semi-finals

5 games today and 5 games tomorrow.

None of these section 1 schools have hockey teams. They are all part of Co-ops for hockey and many of the schools are strong in wrestling.

Wowzers, I haven't lived in MN for a long time, but that score is super surprising. What happened?

What happened?
I guess MG is finally cashing in on all those thousands of three-car garage, 3-4k square feet, single family homes that they allowed to be built there over the last 20 years.

The Lakeville recipe.

Turnovers. EP was up 3-0 after 1 but then turned the ball over twice and one was returned for a TD. MG scored 21 in 2ndQ

I went to the EP/MG game last night. MG deserved to win. EP performed the worst I have seen in the 25 years I have been watching their games in person and a lot of it had to do with MG's Defense. MG had an early score on a long pass, making it a 7-3 game after an EP FG.. Then, MG intercepted and the very next play their big back sprinted, and I mean sprinted, 77 yards around right end for a touch. Then the EP QB fumbled a center snap, a MG player scooped it up, and ran it in for a touch. Then a MG player literally took the ball from EP's #34 while he was looking for additional yardage deep in EP territory, and scored from the 10 yard line. The last MG score was in garbage time. MG should be congratulated on a great game. Should Lakeville South beat STMA tonight, it sets upa really good Championship between two big play offenses.

Man you’re a dick! What does any of that have to do with this game? You might want to get out and spend some time in the suburbs before you spout off you city douche bag. Sorry people are fleeing Minneapolis in droves because it’s become a sh*thole and you don’t like it. I suggest maybe you get out from behind the computer and your mom’s basement and learn how to not be suck a dickwad.

What's wrong with telling it like it is?

I highly doubt people in those communities are embarrassed of them, in any way. And why would they be? I don't think they should be.

Sure. As if everyone here can't see that you're being a passive aggressive troll any time an upper middle class to wealthy suburb is mentioned. Your rant about Woodbury, Your claims that anyone in Blaine in the SLP district must open enroll because it's "ghetto." Admit it, you have a bone to pick with people who live in nice suburban houses and developments. C'mon, get it off your chest - what don't you like about those people and places?

When can I bank on Blaine in the Prep Bowl?

So far on Friday-
9-Man: Fertile-Beltrami beats Hills-Beaver Creek 30-22.
Fertile-Beltrami will play LeRoy-Ostrander in the Prep Bowl

2A: West Central Area beat Maple River 8-7. Margin of victory was a safety in the 3rd qtr. WCA was driving and threw an interception. Maple River started drive after the INT on their own 3 yd-line, and got tackled in the end zone for a safety.
WCA-Ashby will face Chatfield in the Prep Bowl.

When Dave Nelson comes back...

jk - they had success in the past 10-15 years. They just lost the consistency.

What are the 5 best HS football coaching jobs in Minnesota? My thoughts (in no particular order)

Lakeville South
Lakeville North
St. Michael Albertville
Wayzata
Eden Prairie
