Official 2016 Recruiting Updates Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos, Stories, Rumors, etc.

I thought I'd seen this posted here somewhere - Gophers offer Joe Market a PWO yesterday. 'Sorry if this have already been posted elsewhere.

He may be of some help on the D Line should he choose to walk on at Mn. You never know how a player develops. He certainly has beast size at 6'7" 315 lbs.

I guess I'll just have to wait until 2/3 to find out.

I always wondered if "the trio" rubbed some of the current players the wrong way during their visit and via social media. Maybe a little less "Florida boys taking over Minnesota" and a little more "We're ready to get to work and compete". Just my unsubstantiated opinion.

Burns said he still doesn't know what to expect on signing day despite the "interesting quotes" from Snelson.

A little like saying "The #4 horse was leading at the turn, but finished 5th". Doesn't mean Claeys has done poorly. Other teams may have added, academic casualties (JoJo, ..), etc.

Have we given an offer to Daniel Thomas yet?

247 is predicting us or South Carolina right now but no sites show an offer for Thomas from the Gophers.

He's not here on a sight-seeing trip. He'll get an offer if things go well on the visit.

How many openings do we have in this class? Any educated guesses on how we fill it out?

The class is fizzeling as we speak. Allen committed to Iowa State after we backed off because he got the Michigan offer. Michigan got a verbal from a 4 * TE from Florida a few days ago. Clayes and staff threw the baby out with the bath water with Allen. They completely missed the boat on KasI and the in-home visit did nothing The new coaches Johnson and Miller, unless Williams signs, have brought nothing to the table. Snelson Byrd, and Durr all look to be gone. I'm hoping they can salvage Lindsey, Johnson, and Williams. They did get a nice perrferred walk-on in DT Sam White from Wisconsin.

It has been mentioned already, but Jojo might not even graduate high school. He's not playing anywhere next year.

Agree with most of this; with exception of Kasl. Shocked he was offered by WI. Not a B10 caliber lineman.

I think your username should be Sunshine.

I agree that we seem to be missing on some kids to fill out the class, but let's see how it plays out. I still think the core of the class is pretty solid.

They made a late push for Kasl and didn't get him, but we kept 7 of the top 10 kids in state this year. A little too early to judge Johnson and Miller since they were brought on so late.

We may lose Durr and Snelson, but we have no idea, neither does 247 so I wouldn't go by that.

Why assume we would have got Allen. Maybe clear to coaches we wouldn't?

If you like Kasl then there is no one to blame but Kill. TC wanted him, but We never made a push until Kill left.

I wonder how many high three stars and four stars are going to be available after NSD due to over signings.

Maybe the Gophers will get lucky.

Allen was never coming here and that has nothing to do with anything Claeys did or didn't do. Allen's dad coached at Iowa State for several years and he has said he grew up a cyclone fan.

Not trying throw out the rainbows and puppy dogs but this class is not all that bad considering our coach left in the middle of last season. I think we keep forgetting that. Claeys and staff fought to keep what they could.
