Agreed. I said this in the other thread, but Claeys was always harping on "getting the ball to our playmakers in space" after Kill left. We saw the exact opposite of that under Limegrover. I don't fault him -- it worked well to possess the ball and win close games at SIU, NIU, and to an extent UM. Unfortunately, it bogged down way too often and it's clear Claeys was sick of it.
FWIW, I don't see a lack of offensive playmakers on this team. Like Claeys, I see a lack of creative ways to get them the ball in space. Both RB's are very athletic. Maye has shown that. Wolitarsky has more burst than people give him credit for. Still can go get the ball in single coverage. Lingen seems like a good pass catcher. The rFR WR's looked as good to me on tape and in practice as many other B1G WR's. Jeff Jones? I'm looking forward to seeing how things shake out. Definitely a FAR more interesting offseason than we've had in a while, for better or for worse.
