Sid endorses Dan O'Brien on WCCO radio.

Chad Hartman says the U has promises for a lot of money over the 70 million raised already for facility.

I'm of the opinion that the first phone call should for any school looking for an AD should be to Tom Jurich.

Agreed, but he is not going anywhere.

He basically owns the city of Louisville, and, if he did the same thing Norwood did, nobody would care. Not that he ever would, but he walks on water in that town. In fact, he is the recipient of that kind of stuff, not sending it out with no response.

He also gets paid about 3x as much as we were paying Norwood

Pete would be an interesting choice - UM Grad, financial experience, well connected, well spoken, ambitious and a former football stand-out. If Goetz doesn't want it, or we don't want her, Pete would be an excellent choice.

When I read this I like this on all levels. And when you added the idea of Goetz of course I thought of Ron Goetz.

If it is from inside the program, I think Dan O'Brien would be an interesting choice. Currently part of administration and was was the director of football operations last year. Was the head football coach at Concordia (St. Paul) and a HS HC in Bemidji and served as the AD at Concordia and Hamline. Played football at St. Thomas.

2014- Senior Associate Athletic Director / Football
2008-14 Minnesota Director of Football Operations
2002-07 Hamline University Director of Athletics
1999-2002 Concordia-St. Paul Director of Athletics
1999-2000 Concordia-St. Paul Head Football Coach
1995-1999 Concordia-St. Paul Assistant Head Football Coach
1993-1995 Bemidji High School Head Football Coach
1989-1993 Lakeville High School Assistant Coach
1987-1989 Benilde-St. Margaret's High School Asst. Coach

For what it's worth, this is who Sid was confident we should promote today on his show.

Haven't we learned anything from the U of M search process?

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing "some guy whose name wasn't even brought up".

Jurich is a long shot but you never know unless you ask.

If it's a none U guy--and I don't know if this would be politically correct but--I think Tim Pernetti is a very capable individual who should be available. I think he really got scapegoated...
