Pete would be an interesting choice - UM Grad, financial experience, well connected, well spoken, ambitious and a former football stand-out. If Goetz doesn't want it, or we don't want her, Pete would be an excellent choice.

Somebody said it earlier - Jerry Kill. Put some good people behind him. Give Beth a raise, and give her the Women's end of things - Or Beth with Jerry getting a raise to handle the Men's end of things. At some point, Jerry is going to look to leave if you don't get a shovel in the ground. Can use some of the money you could be saving to add to the Assistant Salaries (admittedly, not sure of what Woody was making). Football and Basketball pay the bills.
 

Former Gopher assistant AD Jeff Schemmel?

San Diego State University President Stephen Weber announced the resignation of Athletic Director Jeff Schemmel yesterday, saying Schemmel “disappointed the university” with actions that included the “improper use of state funds.”

Schemmel traveled to Alabama in January to have a tryst with a woman and didn’t have university business there, the woman testified under oath in a deposition this year.

Schemmel’s resignation came after an SDSU investigation determined that there were irregularities in his reimbursement requests.

Would a man who's been a football coach all his life and in the past year plus talked about all the ways he has reduced his stress (time commitments, diet, exercise) want to add AD duties to BCS head coaching duties?
 

I defintiely dont see jerry taking over as AD due to the added stress given his health concerns. Maybe after football I could see him being a good AD.

Not to completely rip off Michigan, but we need a Minnesota Man who will land those big fish donors. Lou is too old.
 



Imagine that there will be pressure on President Kaler from the inside to get the hire right after this type of situation. Usually for Minnesotans that means the person has to be "one of us".

If it is from inside the program, I think Dan O'Brien would be an interesting choice. Currently part of administration and was was the director of football operations last year. Was the head football coach at Concordia (St. Paul) and a HS HC in Bemidji and served as the AD at Concordia and Hamline. Played football at St. Thomas.

I would like to see Nanne on a interim basis. Just until the facilities are built. In that time they would have time to do a search for the right person
 

It would be a great opportunity for just about anybody. Easy to look good compared to the tone deaf and arrogant "last guy". What did Teague really accomplish besides the hiring of the Woman's Basketball Coach? Kill was hired by Maturi. Pittino was his 4-5 (?) choice and he hasn't done much yet. And he's only about $120 million short of his fundraising goal.

There, that feels better.
 

Trent Tucker? Is he a possibility?
 


If we're still trying to get money from T. Denny Sanford, both the USD and SDSU AD's presumably have good relationships with him. The AD at USD has previously been at UNO and Concordia as well.
 




Rob Mullens. Probably have to bump the salary a lot (latest I can find (2013) is that he was making the same as Mega Tongue - $500k), and even then it's a pipe dream.
 

mckinley boston. u football player, can bring aggie vision here, knows how to deal with local media during a scandal. not sure the size of his tongue though.
