Isn't he a Minnesota alum?Let's hope so. I think he's a Texas A&M fan.

Texas A&M with a masters from UT-AustinIsn't he a Minnesota alum?
It's the President/CFO who's the UM alum after doing some digging. I'm sure he doesn't have Phil Knight money, but I have a feeling he's very active with NIL.Texas A&M with a masters from UT-Austin
Definitely worth the risk for Minnesota. Looks like a freak athlete, maybe a change of scenery and another year of maturity allows him to capitalize on his physical gifts and become an impact player. He sure didn't get to play much for the Huskers while he was here in Lincoln. Certainly, there was a lot of excitement when he signed, but he never really saw the field. He was injured for a while, but couldn't break the top 5 receivers at Nebraska. Hopefully a change of scenery will help.
I’m not against a wealthy local guy that supports the U but is a fan of A&M. There probably isn’t a fan base that is more delusional than that base and spends/wastes money on their football team.Let's hope so. I think he's a Texas A&M fan.
I hope so. There’s a history of mostly failed 4* WR transfers at Minnesota. Toolsy guys from big name programs who didn’t produce like the 2 and 3 star guys who were HS recruits.Wow. Wide Reciever U.
Who other than Dylan Wright?I hope so. There’s a history of mostly failed 4* WR transfers at Minnesota. Toolsy guys from big name programs who didn’t produce like the 2 and 3 star guys who were HS recruits.
I hope this isn’t a case of buying the product they just returned. Either way, it’s still an impressive get for the staff.
I don’t know about that. I think the high expectations everyone had for Dylan Wright have kind skewed things. I feel like we land less of this type of transfer, but have had decent luck with most of them. Carroll, Pinkney, Majors, Filiaga. Other than Wright I’m not sure we’ve had many former four stars that didn’t do much.Historically, this isn’t the type of portal get that has come in and lit it up for us. I like the kids better who were high achievers at lower levels or non P4 schools.
There isn't much of a history of 4* anything at MN.I hope so. There’s a history of mostly failed 4* WR transfers at Minnesota.
I was counting Hayo Carpenter, Cristian Driver, Tyler Williams in addition to Wright. There is still time for Driver and Williams to make a larger impact.Who other than Dylan Wright?
In terms of Coleman....Low/No risk....potential huge reward and as you mentioned there is still time for Driver and Williams (especially Williams) to make an impact.I was counting Hayo Carpenter, Cristian Driver, Tyler Williams in addition to Wright. Agreed. In the new age of college football, you get him in, if he doesn’t buy into the program and put in the effort, you show him the door next offseason. Very low risk.In terms of Coleman....Low/No risk....potential huge reward and as you mentioned there is still time for Driver and Williams (especially Williams) to make an impact.
Bottom line, with Jackson and Spencer both out of the picture next year it is good to see the coaches casting a wide net to try and make sure we have capable replacements on the roster for next year and beyond.
Carpenter was a different era but definitely a bust. Dylan Wright couldn't stay out of is own way and was a bust at TCU as well after he left here.
Totally agree about Wright. He didn’t live up to our expectations, but he still was a decent contributor on run heavy teams.Agreed. In the new age of college football, you get him in, if he doesn’t buy into the program and put in the effort, you show him the door next offseason. Very low risk.
As far as Wright, while he didn’t live up to the hype, he did some nice things and was still worth the scholly he was taking up.
I’m cool with taking the kid. I just think the guys like Gibbens, Robinson, Brosmer, Henderson at all have been more impactful than the folks that you mentioned. Let’s hope he comes in here and rips it up.I don’t know about that. I think the high expectations everyone had for Dylan Wright have kind skewed things. Overall the staff has done a good job of finding guys from both the power 4 and lower levels that can contribute. The main thing I think people have started to figure out is that it doesn't really matter where the kid transfers from as long as they can play. Early on in the portal process people were more concerned with where the player transferred from than they seem to be now.I’m cool with taking the kid. Hayo was JUCOI was counting Hayo Carpenter, Cristian Driver, Tyler Williams in addition to Wright. There is still time for Driver and Williams to make a larger impact.
He still has eligibility now…Hayo was JUCO
The risk factor has to include $$ in the equation as well. We really don't know the risk.Agreed. In the new age of college football, you get him in, if he doesn’t buy into the program and put in the effort, you show him the door next offseason. Very low risk.

Signing a 4 star to men's BB or FB was like a state holiday when growing up. PJ is doing it in his sleep nowThere isn't much of a history of 4* anything at MN.
Must not remember the Clem years on the hoops side.Signing a 4 star to men's BB or FB was like a state holiday when growing up. PJ is doing it in his sleep now
Too young. I gave up after the 2009-2010 Tubby "Final Four" team fell apart before the season even started, I knew that would be the Goph's last chance at being relevant in NCAAB.Must not remember the Clem years on the hoops side.
Could have hands of stone, thus bett Suited for defensPJ from the top rope! Feliz Navidad you filthy animals.
6'4 210 with a very impressive offer list out of HS. Local Lincoln kid that stayed home. If Tyler Williams, the UGA transfer (6'3 210) can develop, we might look pretty nasty on the outside next year. RTB. Let's go!
Edit: I've read from Husker fans that their coaching staff (as well as other staffs that recruited him) wanted him to play as an edge rusher? And that he wants to play WR. Interesting if true.
He was a standout edge rusher in hs as well. Puts on 25 lbs of muscle and he has potential to be a Jadeveon Clowney like freak at edge.My guy tells me Hands like Feet. Surprised the kid hasn't starved to death with those hands.
Sorry - don't shoot the messenger.
