no, i wouldn’t give him a leverage extension and raise at this time.

No, I would not offer him a raise and extension based upon this UCLA rumor, as that would grant his agent leverage every time one of these rumors popped up regarding PJ. He's not coming off a great season, so I feel like $6M per plus some reasonably achievable incentives is fair. If that's not enough to keep him here, then next man up, I guess.

Within reason I would. It can and likely would get worse. And a school like MN trying to hire in February is how you get Tim Brewster 2.0.

Every P5 (P4?) football coach in America deserves an 80% paycut. The money is out of control.
The same could be said about the people teaching academics. Over paid Under worked Terrible results. Teachers pay is Inversely proportioned to student academic achievement.

Absolute no. Let him go. Underperformed Iowa and Wisconsin since he got here and arguably northwestern and Purdue. If he stays great but a raise would be madness.

My answer is different in mid-February than it would have been in December.
If we were to lose a head coach at this point of the year, my vote would be to designate an interim and then be a little more patient in finding a coach. That has to figure in to how much effort would be made to keep PJ. I would give him a little more, but not a lot.

This is part of Fleck’s issue as of late, there is no easy successor even on an interim basis.

Who are we going to get in place of him? who is beating down the door to come here? I hope Coyle has somebody on the horizon if Fleck leaves.

Your plan to attract better teachers is to reduce their pay?

Brilliant. True wingnut.

Chose the yes on the question but don’t think I’d give him all he wants. A raise to put him in line with middle to upper middle pack big 10 pay is fine but so far he hasn’t shown imo he’s worthy of more than that.

Better pay does not result in better teaching. Look at the results. "The Few the Proud the Marines."

Yes without a doubt. Only Badger & Hawkeye fans vote NO.
Uhmmm, no. Hard, hard, hardcore Gopher fan going back to my childhood in the 1970's, so no. Painting those who might have a different opinion than yours as non-fans is frankly bullshit, and no thanks.

Yes, hiring a coach in February will decimate this program with the free transfer rule.

I'm inclined to say Yes at this point, as much as I'm not crazy about the precedent it sets. I agree with most that say, who in the world are you going to get at this point to replace him? It could set the program back several years.

At a minimum, I would make it contingent upon Fleck shit-canning Wenger from his Special Teams role. This program could/should do so, so much better. The ST, as a whole (barring some bright spots of certain specialists) have been an embarrassment for almost all of Fleck's tenure.
