If Trestman gets the job he'll have alot of proving to do with a hostile fan base upset at the lack of a known quantity.
I think he'd be fine as a coach, I'd imagine he's going to need some assistants with current recruiting ties. His staff at Montreal includes a few names of interest:Andy Bischoff, Tim Tibesar, Tim Burke, Scott Milanovich, none that fit the profile of a recruiter. None that have really had success in college.
Bottom line: Smart guy, probably can coach x's and o's, would struggle to recruit barring a slam dunk coordinator hire, would struggle to excite fanbase. He'd need to win alot early to overcome some of this stuff.
