The only reason to do that would to be to lower the buyout. Were terms of the extension disclosed?

I don't know what is contract looks like but if you're not changing out a guy it seems like automatic extensions just happen now. So players and other coach's don't sit there thinking "dude has no contract next year ...".
 



I wonder what it would take for Gophers fan to start calling for Fleck's job? Maybe if we lost to Bowling Green?

Pretty much just resigned to the fact that they have no offense, but happy with the way their defense played (on B5thQ).

Fanbase has given up on Fickell but with the size of his buyout they are resigned to most likely being stuck with him for at least another year.
 















Fickell probably has a similar deal as Big Game James at PSU. I read that his buyout is $50M if he gets fired, but only $3M if he says the hell with it and leaves for a fresh start elsewhere. maybe Fickell gets tired of all the drunken Sconnies, as Franklin might be tired of all the pressure to win at PSU. I'm sure either guy could land a nice contract somewhere if he chose to resign.

Think Fickell’s buyout is $25M so don’t see him voluntarily giving up that money no matter how bad it gets.

Franklin could.....not so sure on Fickell. He might have to go be a coordinator or lower level head coach for a pit before a power 4 program would go after him again.

I know there were a lot of other factors at play during his one year at Ohio State but he accomplished the seemingly impossible task of finishing under .500 at Ohio State. He had a lot of success at Cincy when they were still a G5 school but his power 4 track record at Ohio State and Wisconsin is not good.
 


I think it has been over a year since Wisconsin has beaten a power four team.
