Wisconsin - A program that is waning

Game was not that close folks. Badgers made errors coming down the stretch and let the Gophs back in it. UW dominated the stats, don't be fooled by the score.
Yeah, <s>Boob</s> Bob, y'all should ask the B10 and/or NCAA to add 7 points to the Badger score or take away 7 points from the Gopher score.

Failing that, maybe you can ask 'em to put an asterisk by the final score with a footnote that it "was not that close." ... ...

Now if even that doesn't work, you can slink home knowing what the real score was.

Hey Bob, wait until you play a good team...........Becky is average at best

Well, it actually depends upon which Bucky team you're speaking of. In terms of football, I'm sorry, I don't see the Badgers regressing. I did happen to watch the volleyball team play last week however, and, well.....

Just kidding....Honestly, the Badgers deserved to win the game hands down. There really isn't arguing that point imo.

You are following the Glen Mason path to mediocrity. Bulemia is not a very good coach and your team isn't ranked. Remind me again why Wisconsin is a good team? Two mediocre teams played today.

I haven't seen Wisconsin do much with Bulemia at the helm. Regardless of what happened today, I doubt Wisconsin does much for some time with him there.

Wisconsin is 33-11 with Coach Bielema. If that's not doing much, I'll take not doing much.

Hell, if that's a program on the "wane", I'll take that. When was the last time this program was considered good enough that people said it was on "the wane". 1960??

Man, I am 46 years old and have NEVER had the good fortune to see a Big 10 championship in football. Are we doomed to be good in only hockey and occasionally in basketball??

Frustration with being a fan of this team is not even adequate to describe how I feel. When was the last time that this team surprised you in a positive way? The closest I can come to this experience is the Vikes losing 4 Super Bowls in the 1970's, or even the Braves winning 14 division titles and only coming away with one lousy World Series.

I don't know we were puking all over ourselves and almost stumbled our way to a victory. I'd be a little scared that you couldn't destroy us when we were playing so poorly. I didn't come away being very impressed with anything except Clay. Liked him.

Responding to the Goldie fans who were part of this title thread this week.

1. Notice the number of young players for UW today? We are a freshman and Soph dominated team.

2. Game was not that close folks. Badgers made errors coming down the stretch and let the Gophs back in it. UW dominated the stats, don't be fooled by the score. Don't let Brewster sell you that about how close you are. Couple unprobable plays kept you in it.

3. Fans over here made fun of our use of and discussion of the stats and analysis on Buckyville. How dare we inject facts into the dicussion! The stats don't lie, we predicted the game very close to how it came out.

4. 5-0 this year, and 6 and 0 for the axe.

5. All the emotion and talk of the new stadium meant little when the ball got kicked.

6. Game is played between the lines not between the lips. Say hi to Royston for us.

7. We are anything but a program on the wane.

You predicted the game very close to how it came out? I'm pretty sure all of your fans talked about how sweet your QB was, and how stopping Clay wasn't the gophers biggest problem. Tolzien didn't do anything special, and Anderson/Toon were complete non factors. Your team won and that is great for you, but don't pretend the win vindicates you or any other fan as a superior football mind.

Badgers won because Clay dominated, Brew and Company were outcoached in the second half, and Weber was very shaky. The game was very close as your squad was behind for most of the 3rd quarter, and only had a 2 score lead for less than 5 total minutes. Just because you don't like turnovers, that doesn't mean the mistakes were unprobable....or does it? You'll have to tell me what unprobable means.

Moron.

The classic, 'you beat us, but we're terrible' argument. Congratulations on that.

Agree. You're trying to say our win wasn't worth anything, because your own team is absolutely terrible? Minnesota football and their fans are a disgrace to college football. Where's that banner you guys have to put up??

When was the last time that this team surprised you in a positive way?
Probably beating Alabama in the Music City Bowl.

As for the rest that seems a bit melodramatic to me. If Brewster doesn't work out they'll make a change, the good news is (relatively speaking) that the quality of play in the Big Ten is falling back to the point that it's a winnable conference. I don't think Minnesota will have to improve that much, today's woeful performance notwithstanding, to be a competitor.

Kahliq, so what you are essentially saying is, "the conference is beginning to suck, so we only have to suck a little less to be competative"? That is NOT how I want to win. I would like to see improvement to the point where we can compete, and dare I say it, be favored to beat the Michigan, OSU and Penn State's of the world.

Yes, I did do the analysis on Buckyville for this one. You can stop by and check it out. Now, I've never said I was a superior football mind, but a number of posters from here blew off the stats we were focusing on. Don't let facts stand in the way of your opinion. I called the game 31 to 27. A couple of gifts from heaven made this one close. I wouldn't expect to get many 80 yard fumble returns when a team was getting ready to close you out. That is on our team and I hope they learn from it. Point is we play a ton of young guys who contributed big time yesterday. Put on the tape and tell me what you see. As a UW fan I would be pissed as hell if someone was giving my team a pounding like that. Anything but a team on the wane. How good we turn out to be remains to be seen. Big tests coming up.

enjoy it while it lasts badger, soon you will know the pain of a lack of depth.

It is a gift from the heaven when your team turns it over in the red zone, but it is good defense when our team does it? The fumble recovery was incredibly timely but I'd say a shaky chop block call to negate a td, and a hold that led to a weber pick in the red zone are gifts from heaven too. Not to mention a partially blocked punt that rolled all the way to the 5 yard line.

Stuff like that is all part of the game. You have not mentioned any facts that stood in the way of my opinion.

Attention all Becky fans:

Your OSU match-up next week will tell us all a good deal more about the realities of the world.

I guess when your head coach is 0-10 in trophy games, you have to hope other teams beat your rivals.

Enjoy the 18 starters back next year, as well as the entire offensive line.

See you in Madison.

I'd buy the Wisconsin and sell the Minnesota stock, to be honest.

Really, regdaB? You think we need to be reminded that our program is a sh1tstorm right now, so you go and dig up a post from a year ago?

I was about to comment that things were definitely bad for us since the WI and Iowa fans had even stopped coming here to rip us. But, I guess there are even dimwits among those flocks.

You should head back to Buckyville; they're missing their idiot.

Of course, considering you are a Badger fan, why wouldn't you? You have to dig up a year-old thread to say that?

Haven't you ever heard of buy low sell high? That finance education over at Madison must be nothing special.

buying a Wisconsin team that is 16-0 in non-conference games under Beliema and 13-11 in the Big Ten. Wisconsin is a middle of the road big ten team over the past three years. Same conference record as NW and MSU. If I had to, I'd buy Iowa whose stock has taken a hit, but has a chance to rebound nicely.

I ain't gonna lie. I gotta good chuckle out of this dude who has been holding this anger for about a year. GRRR man GRRR!!

Uh, what? You'd think that Minnesota edumacation might notice some odd math at work when Bielema has 4 victories (soon 5) against the Gophers alone.

His real record (not the imagined one) is 42-14 overall, this includes a 20-12 record in conference and 2-2 in Florida Bowl Games. (Yes, they play bowl games in Florida, too!)

It isn't anger. It is irony, history and fate at work. These things are the building blocks of judgment and discernment.

Wisconsin played 32 conference games in the last 3 years? Good old Wisconsin Edumacation for reading comprehension skills.
