Win 2 games in the BTT, our at large hopes are actually really good

I don't think 4 wins in the BTT will be enough. It would be nice if we were in the Big East so we could run the table with 5 wins in 5 days. 5 more wins are probably enough to get us in.

with 4 wins in the BTT we would get the automatic

I think most folks are having a hard time accepting that a team that looked so bad (against Mich) could still be a tourney team. However, we are talking about hypothetical scenarios. As such, I agree that if we win our next 3 games (Iowa, Penn St and MSU), we should be in good shape based on the lack of quality bubble teams. Beating MSU, Wisky, Butler, OSU and @ Illinois should put us in decent shape (50%).

Like it or not folks, we still have a shot.

I agree with you 100% JJ. I've been saying this is what would need to happen after the Michigan game.

20 wins with another signature win... we will be right on the bubble, it just depends how the other bubble teams do.

Illinois

An Illinois loss in the BTT to Wisc would also be needed....

HA!!!! Gophers won't even beat PSU!

The way both teams are trending, I expect PSU to win a close game and then upset Michigan State...Penn State could make a run....the Gophers don't play good enough defense and have too many careless turnovers to win anything.

Another S grade.

Add tupid.

Bid over Ill

We beat Ill at their place - IF all things were equal that would be the Biggest factor...

We can't get an at large bid over Illini...they finished above us..it won't happen...If anything both teams are headed to the NIT.

I don't believe your assertion is strictly correct and I'm pretty sure it has happened recently, but I don't feel like researching it to back up *my* assertion. They are probably both headed to the NIT.

EDIT: Ok, yep 2009 Penn State. That's last year. That's recent, I guess. Thanks FTB.

The reason Illinois would get in over us is not just because they finished ahead of us in the Big Ten. It is because they also beat MSU, and won on the road @Wisc and @Clem.

Penn State finished ahead of us last year (as well as others). We made the tourney, they didn't. We also won our only meeting with Illinois this year. You clearly don't know much about how this all works.

We got in last season because we beat Louisville(#1 seed) on a neutral court in November...Our win over Butler isn't the same, and we mixed in many more bad losses this year.

Gophers have an RPI of 70-something? No chance in hell 2 wins would get it inside the top 45, where it needs to be.

You absolutely cannot compare last year to this year. It is not going to take as good of a resume to make the tournament this year. The Bubble teams are weak this year. Just stop talking

I have the Gophers about a 3 or 4 seed in the NIT...not even among the final 4 out....more like 12th out....
