They're absolutely not. You just take a shot at PJ whenever you can.

When you read about how Cignetti runs his culture, attention to detail, his recruiting, etc it's all very similar to what people say about how PJ runs his program.

There was only one guy who had a shot at him before the first down marker and he didn’t really miss a tackle, he was coming from too far, and even diving could only his get his hands out to him so I wouldn’t say that’s a missed tackle. (I’m not including the guy who was fully engaged by a blocker so he didn’t have much of a chance either). He got the first down before he got to those other guys he bounced and spun out of.
 


Darrell Royal when asked about tips on running the wishbone replied "You don't want my offense, you want my fullback."

Cignetti did a good job of getting the most out of the players he was able to get. Fleck might be doing the same.

Saw a stat that their last fumble lost was in week 1. So they went 15 straight without one. He gets the most out of his players and they don't make a lot of mistakes. Very sound.

Indiana got the look they wanted and the play worked, my point was simply that had a Miami player made the stop the opinion of that play call would have changed drastically.

I think that’s the true thing that Cignetti is great at, or at least did a great job at the last two years. He did a masterful job of finding players he could implement within his system.

I watched Miracle again a few nights ago and couldn’t help draw comparisons between Indiana and Herbie taking the players that would make his system go rather than just grabbing the most talented players.

The next time we play Indiana, PJ will RTB all week or whatever he does to come up with these genius game plans we see 75% of the time to run clock and squeak out a win while Cignetti is doing everything possible all week to enable him to put his boot on PJ’s throat and beat him by 60. Complete opposites.

People won’t really like to hear it but this Indiana team plays really similar to the Morgan era Minnesota teams


Imagine Morgan with mobility.
I also think the IU defense is a little deeper than Mn 2019

What does this even mean? You have zero idea what either coach does all week.

I too hope fleck learns to be aggressive enough to run inside zone on third and 5 when one first down wins the national title

I think it depends a little on what your team is capable of. When the Gophers had Mo they would sporadically run on 3 and 10 plus and on multiple occasions Mo got the 1st. While most wouldn't normally run on 3rd and long, if you are a good running team it might be closer to a coin flip that you can get a 1st. If you are a bad running team it is basically giving up because you have maybe a 10% chance.
