Yes, he did not succeed in the NFL as a head coach with the Jags having been recently fired, but his track record fits exactly what the Gophers should be looking for.

1) Defensive Minded Coach - Defense WINS in the Big Ten, and I've enjoyed what Clayes and Sawvel have put together we need to keep that going. Bradley was DC at NDSU under Bohl before heading to the NFL, DC for the Seahawks that had great defensive units, also learned under Monte Kiffin.

2) Knows the Midwest and has Ties - As I've mentioned, has coached at NDSU, born in MN (everyone loves to say he's one of us).

3) Recruiting Intangibles - Knows what it takes to get to the NFL has connections in college and NFL could put together a decent staff I would imagine....

Only negatives, he doesn't currently coach in college so he wouldn't be "bringing recruits with him." Thoughts???

If he's not from MN, is he even a candidate? Does anyone mention his name?

Hey the MN thing was sarcasm, I could not care less. I think it's funny the MN connection, but the guy can coach defense.

Not a head coach.... lots of NFL experience makes me wonder if he can recruit / do it the college ranks. That combo is a big concern for me.

Kinda short resume.

Was awful in Jacksonville. Has never coached college at a FBS level. Last time coaching college was as a defensive coordinator at North Dakota St. 12 years ago.

I think people are generally thinking he'll stick to the NFL, that he'll get hired on as a DC somewhere. I wouldn't mind the hire, but am wary of getting a guy who hasn't been involved in some capacity in major college football.

The NFL is not college (see: Saban, Nick; Mora, Jim) and just because someone was successful with the x's and o's at that level doesn't mean they'll be successful with the myriad of other responsibilities that a college head coach has to deal with.
