Dude made one of the ballsiest calls in CFP history going for it on 4th and 5 when a FG puts them up 6......he played to win.
1:51 left

3rd and 5 from the 18
Run for 1
4th and 4 from the 17

Kick field Goal to go up 6

Third and 5 was with 1:51 left up 3

This literally happened

I don’t necessarily think this was a bad choice: forces Miami to burn a timeout, takes field goal off the table. I didn’t have confidence in Miami’s offense.

But with one first down to seal it third and 5 he ran the ball for one and gave Miami a chance.

This literally happened

My one and only visit to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, fka Joe Robbie Stadium, had bad memories. Gophers vs NC State in the infamous Micron PC.com Bowl. A relatively warm but rainy evening turned into another epic Masonesque huge blown lead for a loss. Phillip Rivers went insane in the 2nd half.
I was there too. Painful game. The tickets were easier to come by than last night....

The idea that Indiana simply bought an elite roster is nonsense. I want to say preseason odds, after everyone saw the roster they "bought", had them as the 23rd most likely team to win the natty. Their recruiting rankings (both high school and transfer) were pretty medicore. Id venture that none of the fan bases of schools Indiana beat in the B1G title game or CFP, before the season started, would have looked at Indiana and said "wish we had that roster." This roster won a championship because Cignetti valued talent better than other programs, and put the talent he had into a position to succeed with his coaching. I think this is easily one of the best college football coaching performances in history.
