I heard directly from sources close to Brian last time around that he’s never moving from San Diego. They love the area and the lifestyle. Things can change, of course, but that was adamant the last time we had this conversation on the board.

Why would he. He has a good thing going and he took them to the final 4, he’s golden. AND ITS SAN DIEGO
 

Iowa wasn't even really down. McCaffery ended the NCAA dreams of both Nebraska (by 15 on their floor) and Ohio State in his last week on the job without his best player. I didn't truly believe they'd actually fire him until it happened, but I fear that means they already have a "yes" from DeVries which means Goetz has a good shot to outshine Coyle here.

What's the time frame to determine who made the "better hire?" If you mean who will most people say has the better coach when practice starts in the fall, I'd guess Iowa will win that debate. If you mean who, looking back in five years, advanced their program the most beyond their current predicament, I'd guess Minnesota. Minnesota has almost nowhere to go but up. Iowa could stagnate or get worse.

Down by 40 at one time hammered by 27? I don’t think he had to make it that obvious he wants to stay in San Diego.
Has he gotten a call from anyone yet?
