I’m sure he’d be welcomed back if he decided to stay. I think him playing for another school next year is as likely as him playing in the nfl next year.

I have had the same thought. Scouts know about him, but being at a school with higher visibility (perceived or real) might up his profile.
 

It seems surprising to me that he wouldn't go in the top 3 rounds, he seems better than Mafe both in terms of stats and the eye test. Is it because Mafe's smaller and faster and can play LB instead of DE?

He can come back to college if the NFL opportunity he's looking for isn't there.

Question will be if that's back with Gophers or with some other school with more money.
