Max gave up a D1 basketball scholarship to walk on at Minnesota. I loved that he got his chance to play. Giving walk-ons serious opportunities to prove themselves has made awesome athletes walk on at Minnesota. Max's story will only help us continue that trend.

Nestor hands down. He seems like he is going to be a key player on defense this year. The first game he made nice plays and he did this game as well.

AD Coyle for this one in the scheduling.

We saw some things today we may never see again as Gopher fans.

Nestor. Co-MVP to whoever in the athletic department was against scheduling this team.

Gotta be Nestor for scoring the game winning TD 6 seconds into the game. ;)

Those complaining about scheduling this game need to relax. We play a 9 game conference schedule and our other two non-conf games are vs. MAC and ACC teams. One layup against a bad team where you are able to get a bunch of guys game reps is not a bad thing.

Anyone attending this game who paid over $4 for a ticket should be ashamed of themselves. Our team makes $Millions of dollars collectively as a team. The team they just demolished makes ~$23,000 collectively as a team. Pro teams should not play amateur teams like NWState.

lol....some of you are so determined to find something to be negative about....to each their own I guess.

The idea of “most valuable” is pretty funny when there was 9+ different rushers, receivers, TDs. And a D that had several TOs and TDs returned. Nestors stat line definitely pops but I think that Washington was the best value. Young got a lot of good reps and helped keep the main guys healthy.

I'll tell you who wasn't the MVP - the dude that orders fireworks.1757243583462.png

Was this the case when the game was scheduled? Should buy in games have been cancelled when revenue sharing came into the picture? If so, it would have left more than a few power conference teams scrambling for a new opponent. Plus, what would be the repercussions of canceling a game to which there is a contractual obligation?

Dang, I attended the game and paid more than $4 and had a great time, but now you have me re-thinking things.
