STrib chimes in:

MVP

Darius Taylor | The junior running back rushed 30 times for 141 yards and caught four passes for 36 yards. However, his biggest play might have been on Gonser’s interception, when he chased down the linebacker, dived to the turf and got enough of Gonser’s foot to prevent him from a pick-six.

Go Gophers!!

Jamerson Geers should have at least made the list. He had some really nice receptions early in the game when we needed them, including the touchdown, and his blocking is one of the reasons Taylor gained so many rushing yards.

Another MVP for the game is whoever is on the negotiating team between FOX Sports and YouTube TV.

Not sure why Anthony Smith and Geers didn't even make the list but regardless I'm giving the nod to the freshman QB who didn't play like a freshman making his first start. DT gets honorable mention with Anthony Smith.

Tough call. I thank Taylor overall. Consistent throughout the game in production and had some clutch moments to keep drives alive and the offense rolling. Huge honorable mention to Drake, though, he looked the part.

Obviously at least last night Drake and Geers were clicking as the QB very methodically checked down his options.

Whether a Buffalo game fluke or a sign of things to come, if the latter Jamerson is going to need to work on his concentration and hands. With a QB that Drake appears to be, we need great concentration and hands from everyone who might get the ball...WRs, backs, and TEs. It could go anywhere.

Last night it was Geers who stood out. According to google's AI, he had 4 catches for 38 yards. I can think of 3 drops without looking any further. Might have been one or two more?

Can't help but think of Tyler who was good for dropping his first ball his way like the sun comes up in the morning. Of course from there it was mostly all good. Haven't watched the DVR but we don't need that from Geers when the QB does his job to get a catchable ball to him.

As Mrs. Billd says, "bitch, moan, complain." That is all.

I'm going to give this one to Lindsey, he did well for his first start and fought through some WR/TE having a bad case of the dropsies. But Taylor and Jalen Smith are equally deserving. Smith was an absolute beast in this game and looked like a 1st rd pick out there.

Yeah, I am changing my vote to Darius Taylor.

His prevention of the touchdown that resulted in a field goal on the interception was a massive play. In retrospect. There were also three or four times he gained the first down where almost no other running back in the country was going to do it. A couple of times on past receptions and breaking tackles and a couple of times on runs. He's the MVP

Also, his run to start the 2nd quarter that led to a TD was soooo good.
