LSU would be the dream matchup for me, as we have never played them before. Would be fun to be undefeated all-time (read: 1-0) against another southern powerhouse like we are against Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas and Clemson.

I gravitate towards most of the same names others appear to be (Clemson, LSU, Tennessee...) but honestly as long as it is a power 4 team I really don't care who it is.

I wonder how many of those schools really wanna face Minnesota?
I'm sure they are all intimidated by the gophers' super tough nation leading bowl winning streak that was not at all a product of iffy competition*.

* Not their fault, if you are playing you may as well win.

I’d take Tennessee in the music city bowl - we can finally put the “rocky top” controversy to bed
Back in the day RuppertFlyWheel had real issues playing southern teams (a.k.a. Alabama; Arkansas) in the Music City Bowls. The War of Northern Agression and so on led to some misunderstanding around The Band doing The Swinging Gates Formation for the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

I also believe Rocky Top was played in at least one of them that was also confusing since UT was not on the slate.

We were different then.

This was also when we met DeltaHog...class act. Regardless, Minnesota is 2-0 versus the SEC in the Music City Bowl.

Beating Brohm was always fun, but our pass defense scares me so not sure this is the year I want to face them. WF, Duke, Cinci, and TCU are just blah to me, no disrespect to them. Kansas St would be fun to beat as they seem to battle us for a lot of recruits. Missouri, Tennessee, LSU and Clemson would all be fun teams to beat as they have more brand recognition. Ultimately I want to win the bowl though, any thoughts on if we’d be favored against any of these?

Any SEC team... mainly Tennessee because they are vastly overrated. LSU is a no win situation. If we win, everyone will have the built in excuse of they don't really have a head coach right now...

I used to always just want a P6/P5/P4 team because I wanted to beat a recognizable school from a solid conference. We still say P4, but realistically, after the most recent realignment, it feels like there is really a P2, with the Big 12 and ACC being in a separate tier between B1G/SEC and the mid majors (i know before the realignment, they were weaker conferences, but then they felt like the lower part of the top tier, now they seem like an entirely different tier). Long story short, I want to beat an SEC school.

I would love to see the Gophers versus a beatable LSU squad led by Lane Kiffin learning his players names.
If his critics at Ole Miss are to be believed, Lane hasn't bothered to learn the players' names in years.
