The Rutgers game stunk, just like Jersey, but Saturday is time for redemption! The 👃 is rested and ready💪

PSU is always overrated and with a week to heal and prepare, PJ & the boys will be chomping at the bit.

We play our best/complete game of the year and win by 10.

Would be fun to win. They are on cusp of a bye for the CFP. They will be on their game and it would take the effort of the century for us to win.

Would be nuts to see us take down a highly ranked PSU at home in November twice in 5 years

The fan in me will be cheering for the Maroon & Gold. The realist in me (with valuable points at stake in the weekly Pick’ems contest) has chosen the Lions of Nittany.

a win would be great -but this year, I just don't see it. the 2019 team had more big-play capability with Bateman and Johnson, plus the 3-headed backfield of Smith, Brooks and Mo. This year's team just seems as if it has to work a lot harder to score points, and the inconsistency of the OL and running game is a big concern.

the only way I see a Gopher win is if the defense does something over-the-top - multiple forced turnovers with at least one defensive TD or a special-teams TD.

I do. I know this team isn't on the same level of the 2019 squad on either side of the ball. However, I feel like this team has had its moments and given an opportunity like this, they can pull off something special. If the defense is as opportunistic as it can be and the offense is as efficient as it can be, they can pull it off.

Defense definitely has the talent to have that kind of game. Koi might be able to cook on ST in the return game.

The offense may not have the explosive play talent, but Brosmer has been cool in the clutch this season, especially late in the game. Also, not for nothing, Fleck's Gophers have been really good coming out of their bye weeks. Maybe will see Harbaugh dial up some innovative stuff in this game.

The 2019 was my favorite in-person stadium event of all time.

It is 2024 now.

Gophers lose.

I'll be there cheering them on and I hope I'm wrong of course, but I don't see a team that struggled with Rutgers beating Penn State.

It would be on brand for the Gophers to drop the ball against Rutgers and then turn around and beat a #4 ranked Penn State . . .
And follow that up by crapping the bed against the Skunks.

I think Penn State is more likely to win but our odds of winning are better than the spread implies. We are both 3-0 against common opponents with similar margins of victories in 2 of those games. They've won some games by a lot but they've only played one really good team and lost to them.

The key will be the offensive line. If they can give Max time to throw and block well enough to make Penn State take the run seriously, we are in decent shape and have a good shot at winning if we avoid big mistakes. If they play like they did against Rutgers, this will be our biggest loss of the season.

Ingredients are there for an upset. Bye week, home game, pissed off team after a disappointing loss....very similar situation to the one Wisconsin was in last weekend and they came up just short against Oregon.

Will take a great game to beat Penn State, but if we take care of the football and catch some breaks along the way anything is possible.

For whatever reason we have done pretty good against Penn State over the years. They hold the series lead but there have been a lot of close games and we have won the last two times we played them at home.

Hopefully the crowd is rowdy and makes life tough on Penn State.....would be awesome to spring the upset on them when they are riding high looking at a high CFP playoff seed.

Surprisingly, bookies give the Gophers (+12.5) a better shot against Penn State than Indiana (+13.5) gets against Ohio State.

Home field has something to do with it I would guess
It does, but it also seemed like it was the betting public putting big money on Ohio State. Line opened at IU +10 and keeps going more to Ohio State with every passing day

The general betting public is a bunch of shameless front-runners who back the big brands and favorites way more than I would expect if you look at big data sets

Plus there were at least two obvious referee screwings in the series that gift wrapped a couple of the PSU wins.

There are are only two conference games left. I like this Gopher team a lot!

What the hell! I’m going with this Gopher team to win on Saturday. Beat that stinking knitty-kitty Gopher.

In State College, PA they think their “fracking” gas doesn’t stink. Who do they think they are they kidding? Maybe the poll-people and those crooked odds-makers who snooker foolish stiffs in the gaming parlors on a regular basis. Gophers win this one!

If we can actually run the ball, and limit them to under 5 yards per carry, we have a shot!

Their passing game isn't great. They have a great defense and can get after the QB. If we can't run, there is no play action, and Brosmer could get killed.

A defensive/special teams td wouldn't hurt either.

The defense could hold them to 21 or less.

And then we could win! lol

Seniors rise to the occasion on Senior Day! Gophers beat Penn. St. to shake up the playoff system!

Praying is a waste of time but Penn State is always overrated. The Lions struggled beating Bowling Green and had close games with Illinois, UCLA, USC, and Wisconsin. We had close games with Illinois, UCLA, and USC. Lions fans know that Franklin will screw up and thus we have a chance. Either way this is going to be a one score game.
