Who you got?

It's not 100% Vikings related but it's certainly part of the QB carousel that we could see in the next several months. It could be a whirlwind ride.

I've heard all kinds of crazy things tossed around but there are some names out there that aren't being talked about a LOT that could change things for QB needy teams.

- Aaron Rodgers, someone posited that he could even go to the LA Rams
- Could Geno Smith be available via trade, the Seahawks might want to move on
- Could Matt Stafford become available
- Cousins could very well be available if the Falcons move on with Penix
- If Darnold walks, where does he go
- Does Russ Wilson go to reunite with Pete Carroll in Las Vegas
- Do the Vikings keep Daniel Jones somehow, to work with JJM
- It's very close to the time for the 49ers to make a decision on Brock Purdy
Ditching Stafford for Aaron Rodgers would be terrible, even assuming they could get a 1st round pick for Stafford which is unlikely. McVey won't do that.

I agree, but I think the notion was floated because of possible contract demands by Stafford. If I'm not mistaken, Stafford is on the books to make around $23-$25M for 2025. After the season he just had, I would think there's zero chance he doesn't ask for a lot more money. And Rodgers, or someone else, could come at a fraction of the cost.

I still think Stafford retires and Darnold is the Rams QB next year. He already knows the McVey offense which should appeal to both sides.

I agree if Stafford retires, Darnold makes sense. But I don't think he's retiring.
The Rams are still a credible team to make the Super Bowl. With all those years Stafford spent languishing in Detroit, I could see him milking this opportunity for all it's worth. His "legacy" gets way more impressive with a second SB win; there are only 13 QBs to ever win multiple SBs. Plus, he's still got some left in the tank, unlike Rodgers.

Interesting. Cousins says he injured his shoulder in Week 10 (at which time the Falcons were 6-3 and leading the division) and never fully recovered the rest of the season, choosing to just "battle through it". Atlanta proceeded to go on a 5-game skid.

He also said that while his Achilles was healed, he wasn't sure his right ankle ever returned to full health.

I'm sure he felt that if he sat for a game or two to heal he would never get his job back.

This is going to be a wild offseason in the next 6-8 weeks, and then the draft. Speaking purely from a Raiders fan/ticket holder, I can't wait to see what happens with the QB carousel. I have not heard NEARLY enough rave reviews about S. Sanders or Cam Ward to warrant using a Top 5 draft pick, especially if you have to use additional resources to move up; the Raiders are currently at #6.

Ordinarily, I might say that at least one of those QBs could fall out of the Top 10, but there's just too many stupid NFL franchises right now and I think some of them will panic and end up taking a QB. There's a lot of "bridge QBs" available this offseason.

Honestly, for the Raiders, if they managed to use their cap money and draft capital to fill a bunch of other holes, I would be completely fine with them running it back with Aidan O'Connell and finding their QB in 2026.

It's a very weak draft class at QB for sure. Same with free agents.

I have to wonder then if the Vikings really could franchise Darnold and trade him. Might be too risky though.
