This was one of the most important moments since 1960 for Gophers football.

Was in the living room. Was on the phone with an Atlanta friend watching the end. Priceless. Went nuts. First significant win for Mason.

There’s the split second of not knowing if the field goal attempt cleared the line and then the most beautiful sight—the ball splitting the uprights. I was holding my two year daughter pacing the great room & then the family celebration ensued. Keep in mind the backdrop of a tough year in sports: the NFC title game loss; the Ganglehoff scandal; the hockey program temporarily down in Lucia’s first year—it was a badly needed electrical jolt of excitement & triumph.

Crazy, we are all in bars, ha. I was traveling...don't remember where I was but outside of Minnesota somewhere. I can see the scene in the bar with everybody devastated Penn State lost.
It was memorable and very fun for me!

From an EZ camera platform in Happy Valley at the opposite end of the field. One of the coolest moments of my life being in a stadium with 100,000 silent fans while a small pocket of Minnesota fans went nuts.

Penn State fans were very gracious in defeat as well. Very unlike the way Iowa or Wisconsin fans react.

I listened to Ray’s call on my car radio while attending a high school playoff game in LeRoy. Returned to the game and they announced the Gopher final score on the loudspeaker during a timeout. Cheers from fans on both sides ensued.

My mother's womb. She had a very thin epidermal wall. It was the first time she felt me kick. 🤔😏
