Where did you watch Dan Nystrom’s game winning FG over PSU?

Was in the living room. Was on the phone with an Atlanta friend watching the end. Priceless. Went nuts. First significant win for Mason.

There’s the split second of not knowing if the field goal attempt cleared the line and then the most beautiful sight—the ball splitting the uprights. I was holding my two year daughter pacing the great room & then the family celebration ensued. Keep in mind the backdrop of a tough year in sports: the NFC title game loss; the Ganglehoff scandal; the hockey program temporarily down in Lucia’s first year—it was a badly needed electrical jolt of excitement & triumph.

Crazy, we are all in bars, ha. I was traveling...don't remember where I was but outside of Minnesota somewhere. I can see the scene in the bar with everybody devastated Penn State lost.
It was memorable and very fun for me!

From an EZ camera platform in Happy Valley at the opposite end of the field. One of the coolest moments of my life being in a stadium with 100,000 silent fans while a small pocket of Minnesota fans went nuts.

Penn State fans were very gracious in defeat as well. Very unlike the way Iowa or Wisconsin fans react.

I listened to Ray’s call on my car radio while attending a high school playoff game in LeRoy. Returned to the game and they announced the Gopher final score on the loudspeaker during a timeout. Cheers from fans on both sides ensued.

Some dingy corner bar getting lunch after a morning of pheasant hunting with my dad. I was in high school; don’t remember the town, but I can picture the inside of the bar.

I was driving for a small trucking company, listening on the radio. As I recall, I actually lost my signal for a few minutes and got it back just as the kick went up.

Listened to it on the radio driving down 35w, on the way to a wedding of a former Gopher BB player's sister. Watched as long as we could. were air high fiving at 72 mph.

Like several of the Gophers biggest moments, I missed this one live. I had an off-campus event for ROTC since it was around Veterans Day.

I miss a Gopher game about once every 3-5 years, and '99 Penn State was one of them. So was the wisconsin game where Rhys Lloyd made a FG and ran and grabbed the Axe, and their first win over Nebraska after they joined the Big Ten.

I was wearing old school radio headphones and in the produce aisle of Rainbow Foods at University and Snelling,

25 rows up surrounded by some unhappy folks in white...including the friends from Philly I went with who all were went to PSU.

Edit: Never was invited to a game again or allowed to watch games at any of their houses after that. Lol.

I remember the announcers constantly bringing up that Nystrom was using ladders for his kicks to clear in practice to prepare for Lavar Arrington who was going to jump 20ft in the air and block it
