What's going on with Iowa?

Back to light sabers for Pantherhawk?

Somehow, I thought half of Iowa City was tweaked out on meth already.

Wrong 50PoundHead. All of those Iowa City tweaks are a result of numerous incidents of in-breeding, hence the offspring were born that way. The rest of us have no excuse, (maybe I do) unless I indulged in laced beer in my younger years. :)

I honestly have no idea who FV Sports is and whether they're legit.

Waiting for hammer to fall ...

Yikes. What a mess if it's true.

Wehger got his girlfriend pregnant, and moved back to Sioux City right before fall camp started. Some think he will never play football again, some think he will go to USD because it is close, some think he may even do a NAIA Sioux City school (Morningside, Briar Cliff).

Word on the street is that he got another girl pregnant around the same time. I have heard from sources that say it was Robinson's sister....For what its worth. Living in Iowa right now I am laughing at this so much. All Iowa people say is how great of a program they have, how they do things the right way and all that jazz. Its funny now because they are just as messed up as everyone else. I cannot wait to get out of Iowa, never hated the hawks until I moved here now I can't stand them.

I hate Iowa but don't wish this on anyone. Not good for Iowa and not good for Big10 and thus, not good for Minnesota. But aside from how this might impact us, I want to beat Iowa just as we did this year...on the field, not in someone's courtroom or chem lab.

The biggest issue here is the large group of guys involved in the distribution angle. If you don't think a large percentage of college football and basketball players smoke weed, you're terribly naive. Selling on the other hand - that's a serious problem for the school and the team. If this really involves 20 players, yikes.

I suppose it gets back to the whole issue of the NCAA not allowing these guys to have jobs, so now they have to turn to illegal means to even make money.

+1

I for one enjoy this, simply for the fact that a chubby-cheeked dimwit who spends every waking minute of his pathetic life lurking and trolling on every internet board possible badmouthing the Gophers and exalting the praises of his beloved Hawkeyes has to be beside himself. Suck it, PantherHawk. "It's a hard rain's a gonna fall."

I would buy that argument of DJK was found with a little bit of money and selling some pot, but he was charged with some serious crimes. DJK is being charged with keeping a cocaine drug den, that is more than simply scratching out some cash because the NCAA won't let you get a job.

I just talked tonight to my brother in the Quad Cities. He told me...Stay away from Iowa City, in the area here it is well known for whatever.................... I asked him what he meant, he replied...stay away from Iowa City. Period......... He is older than I, so I shall stay away. The End.

This is advice that should be followed every day of the year.

No doubt about that. I read the story on the Iowa City paper's website. He was into some serious dealing. I wonder what the roles, if any, of some of the other teammates are in regards to this.

Interesting that someone from the Quad Cities is talking down Iowa City. I've only driven through, but I've heard that the QC has some pretty rough areas. I've never heard that about IC.

Put it this way...BOTH are hidden under the radar yet close to $hitcago. Ya think there is not a pipeline there?

Looks like they need a new work/study coordinator at the University of Iowa.

What's up with Iowa?
A couple things.

1. Iowa sucks.
2. They rape farm animals (as Sconnie folks rape dead bodies)
3. The whole state smells like ass
4. You'd have to be on some major drugs to Iowa and be a browneye.

Not shocked that a bunch of college students did drugs. Especially in Iowa where there is absolutely nothing to do but drink and do drugs. Just shocked that no players pulled a Tyler Thomas and dropped in a three point stance then charged a cop naked.

Stay classy!

Drugs are a big deal down in this area. There are many dealers who come out to eastern Iowa to set up their own "business." You'll be surprised how prevalent it is.

Wasn't there a book written a couple of years ago about a meth epidemic in an Iowa city that was on the skids? Seems to me there was.

This is a pretty tired excuse. They get free tuition, free books, free tutors, free room & board, free clothes and other perks. I agree though that they should be able to have part time jobs in the off season since some of these guys' families might not even be able to give them pocket money despite not having to pay for any school expenses.

Word is Johnson-Koulianos' adopted family was pretty well off financially. Money didn't seem to be an issue with him.

No one should be surprised that drugs are easy to come by in Iowa City. It's a city with a major college and a lot of college students enjoy drugs. (If they really like them, they often become former students.)

The fact that a division one athlete who is a large part of a good program would run a drug house, however, is surprising. I'm interested to hear more about this. I wonder how many more will be suspended.
