I see some ominous tweets regarding Iowa and DJK's arrest being just the tip of the iceberg? One said that Robinson and Hampton have been kick off the team for not taking drug tests.

Here is an email I received this morning from a die hard Iowa fan with connections in Iowa City.

there is bad sh!t going on in hawkeyeland right now. Jewel hampton has either quit or been kicked off the team. adam robinson is also rumored to have been given the boot. hampton and a-rob were known to hang out with DJK. apparently, the whole team got a drug test after the DJK news broke and those two failed. there may be more. i don't know what kind of operation ferentz is running, but it feels like we've been down this road before.

btw, iowa has two running backs left on the team. latest rumor is that 10-12 iowa players will be suspended in the near future. good times.

Jewan Edwards should take notes since he likes to post on facebook that he is about to smoke.

Curse of Tim Brewster. We got it lifted once he was fired and it was set on Iowa for 55-0. They started off great then fell to 7-5 after losing to us. Now it's meltdown city.

A guy can dream right?

I am actually not too surprised by this coming out of Iowa City. For years, it seemed like they had huge issues that were swept under the rug. Clayborn essentially got a slap on the hand for assaulting a cabby, the coach's son got two DUI's with very little punishment, etc.

From what i've heard: A. Rob and Jewel Hampton are done.

Speaking of Iowa, did anyone know where Wegher ended up? Was it South Dakota?

Wagner was granted a transfer as long as not a big 10 team don't think he has made a choice though.

While it doesn't seem likely, I hope that DJK was an isolated incident and that Iowa can move on in a positive way.

If some of the rumblings are true (many players failing a drug test this morning as well as connections from DJK to other members of the team suggesting they knew of or participated in his affairs) that is bad for all college sports.

I know Iowa is a rival, but I just coudn't take any ppleasure whatsoever in their being negatively affected on the field by this type of scene.

Stay tuned... there's talk of a pending press conference.

Wehger has not made a decision yet. He was released on the condition he would not go to another BT school. It sounds like USD, SDSU and UNI are the likely destinations.

Wehger got his girlfriend pregnant, and moved back to Sioux City right before fall camp started. Some think he will never play football again, some think he will go to USD because it is close, some think he may even do a NAIA Sioux City school (Morningside, Briar Cliff).

I'm not much of an "internet image guy," but

Kirk might want to start thinking about the NFL.

I would be very surprised if he isn't already. There is no way KF retires as HC of the Hawkeyes. He is always mentioned as one of college's coaches most able to make the move to the NFL.

That team was twice as good with Ricky Stanzi as it was without him (until lately). It is hard to imagine next year is going to be much better for the Hawkeyes with a new QB.

Vandenberg looked awful against the Gophers last year. It's hard to feel bad for the hogeyes considering how their fan base behaves up here . I hope they get blown away in their bowl game as does sconnie. I will be hoping for Big Ten wins in every other bowl but those two.

Their boards are blowing up, saying there may be a ton of big names involved. McNutt, Binns, etc. Will be interesting to see what, if anything, comes out.

kind of reminds me when Iowa had all of those recruits commit during the US Army All-American game years ago (maybe in 2004?). I think they had seven or eight announce for Iowa during the game broadcast, but I don't know if a single one of them actually made it through four years at Iowa (according to a friend of mine that is from Mason City and an Iowa guy, not a single one did).

Crazy. Even as a rival, I don't like seeing this happen to any school (but I wouldn't feel as bad if it were happening to Wisconsin).

This was just homework for a class about chemical dependency. You people!

Maybe they will hit bottom, and their stadium will become known as TCF South.

Opportunity!

Sooooo, you're saying I should promptly take a pile of cash down to the nearest sports book and place it on Mizzou before LVSC wises up and takes the game off the books?

Right now it's Mizzou favored by 1.5, pretty modest. Early money must have come in on Iowa since the game opened up with Mizzou favored by 3

There will be a ton of players from Iowa sitting out the Bowl game (supposedly).

As of right now, i've heard (just from their boards by people who seem to be speaking as if it is "fact")...

Binns, McNutt, Robinson, Hampton, Prater, and possibly Bernstine (as well as DJK).

Has JG talked about his beloved hogeyes on the radio?

Someone needs to screen Floyd, make sure he didn't get a contact high. We'll get him cleaned up. Welcome back to Minnesober, Floyd.

Word is the Insight Bowl is now off the board in Vegas.

It could be that all of the tweeting, inside sources, etc. on this are about as reliable as they turned out to be in our coaching search.

My guess is that this has all been overblown and that DJK is off the team (we already knew), Wegner is transferring to be closer to his newborn child in Sioux Falls (also verified by legitimate media) and Robinson has either been suspended or kicked off the team due to conduct/drugs.

And that will be the end of it (until the next player F-s up in Iowa City).

With all due respect, I tend to believe what is coming out of IC right now and that there will be multiple suspensions.

Somehow, I thought half of Iowa City was tweaked out on meth already.
