What was your favorite Patrick Reusse moment?

I mean I don’t think he intended to die on any hill, he was doing his old curmudgeonly man bit, and without any added context it looked horrible. Now that we know the context it’s a big nothing burger
If that's what happened, why not just clarify that in another Tweet? Deleting his account makes it look like he's hiding from something.

I think this is right on.

Twitter is a place one can have dialogue. Its easy to push back.

I actually was thinking a Too $hort song when I read the original tweet.

Who hasnt been annoyed by a song from any genre.

I think the people attacking him without seeking context are obviously disingenuous n the righteousness. Maybe performing instead of believing. Or else they are just the plain dumb ones.

He’s old, finding music is via lyrics is easy.

And someone did not he did explain there was a song that repeated the word.

Two things:
1) I would never have made any racist association with the word "monkey" and I don't associate rap music as a monoracial genre of music.

2) How in the world has Reusse never heard Brass Monkey in the 35 years it has been being played?

Brass monkey?

I wonder how much money the Beastie Boys made from parents throwing way their tapes/CDs and the kids going out to buy a new one?
Probably could have happened anyway. I've got several albums to that I have bought 3 or more times...

- Cassette tape
- CD
- Reissue CD
- Deluxe Reissue CD
- Vinyl
- Digital

Albums like the Beatles/Abbey Road and the Replacements/Tim I am probably pushing $200 on expenditures.

Yikes.

It's completely on brand that Reusse shoe-horns his explanation by blaming Trump and fictional "Nazi" salutes.

Pat's been a keynote troller for years and this would be an ironically fitting cherry on his legacy.

Chef's kiss 💋

I'm sure Patrick isn't the only nor is the last one to abandon Twitter/X because of its current owner and the ones he associates with.

The only tweets I ever see from Patrick or anyone else are those re-posted on this forum.

Fuck him. He's lucky I'm not his pharmacist. I would have been subbing his statin for a placeb

Wow...hope I don't go to whatever pharmacy you work at!

You must be part of the 20% of Americans who thought it was okay to assassinate an executive of a company they don't like the policies of.

He didn’t say it was the first time he’d heard it.

I will say Charlie Waters was way ahead of his time. He was talking to a little birdie way before Twitter was even a thing.

I highly doubt I'll get what I want here but can someone explain, in a non-partisan manner, how this went from Reusse making a strange/stupid, but not racist tweet, to him ranting about Trump & Co. through a friend relaying a message?

I guess I truly just do not understand social media.

Musk owns Twitter/X.

It would have been real easy to say, "I made a mistake. I chose poor wording that I regret and I absolutely was not trying to demean or offend anyone. I'm truly sorry."

Instead we got a rambling pile of excuses delivered indirectly through another person, basically saying, "How dare you criticize me, there are other people out there behaving far worse than me, attack them."

The only reason anyone is still on Twitter is because they have a following and it makes them feel important.

The civilized world is beginning to leave social media, it is absolute cancer for the soul.

(and yes I realize a message board is social media adjacent)

Each of those is canon in my musical library. Wonderful!

I thought of including 8-Track too, but technically all of those were purchased by my parents. The handful from their collection that I also wound up getting, I don't think I have bought more than once more (all CD).
