What is your prediction on Reid Travis' college choice?
 

I'm going Minnesota. Cautiously optimistic he makes all our dreams come true.
 


I'm going Minnesota because we got his last official and I think Pitino truly believes he can get him to commit based on some of Coach P's blog posts and tweets.
 

He's staying here. Just got a hunch

What posts are you referring to? Coach P has only tweeted once since Reid took his official and it was about the football victory.

One of his blog posts was all about former players that stayed in state and are excelling off the court (ie Hoffarber) and that there are seemingly endless business opportunities after a player's career is over since there are so many large corporations in the twin cities. This sales pitch has spilled over to some of his tweets. It just seems like they are targeted at Reid more than anyone else.
 



There was an older poll that asked which if the big 3 we'll get, I said Reid only back then and I'm sticking to it. All of his recent visits suggest the interest is genuine, and I'm hoping this weekend gave him that extra nudge.
 

I want Minnesota. I think playing in front of parents and family make the experience too enticing. The fact that Minnesota needs a four desperately makes him an instant starter. Hope he chooses us.
 

Really hard to guess right now before Looney and Humphrey make thier decisions. I think it's a toss up between Duke, Stanford, and Minnesota, but I'm going with the Gophers.
 








I was talking with one of Reid's former teammates and I asked if he knew where Reid was going to go. He said Stanford was his dream school, but being Reid really wants to and he feels he can get to the nba that he has kind of cooled on Stanford; so my guess would be Minnesota or Duke.
 

I think he knows Duke prefers others to him, they obviously would take guys like Looney okafor, Winslow etc over him, so the race is who commits first Travis or Humphries
 

We have a shot, but I think a lot of people on here are drinking the Kool-aid. The last top 40 commit we got was 4 years, ago. Why would it happen now?

What better time than now?
 

I think that he stays based off everything I've read from his visit this past weekend. He witnessed a great game, Mason is hard after him and his family would prefer it. Gosh, it's going to be a long wait until November 8. What a day that will be, game one of the Pitino era and hopefully a huge commitment from Reid.

Let's pump it up!
 

I have no clue what he does because the news out of the Travis camp has been sparce. I hope he stays home to play with the Gophers as we need him the most IMO.

I'm sorry, I was quite possibly in REM sleep or 3/4 asleep when I wrote this. Not sure what point I was trying to make,(that isn't my view at all) as I think we have as good of a chance as any to land this kid, assuming he is down to Duke and Minnesota (because of his NBA chances) and Looney chooses Duke. Hope we can land Reid!
 

Well, Doogs said it was between Duke and Minnesota, so I'm going Stanford, unfortunately. I hope I'm wrong.

i'm going to follow the George Costanza philosophy of doing the opposite of what your natural inclination is to get what you want, so i will just say Duke here...
 

I'm between Stanford and Minnesota. Part of me thinks Duke is only on the list because it's Duke. None of the others are perceived basketball powers, so that doesn't seem as important to him. (IMO)

Ryan James also thinks its between Minnesota and Duke too however, and he knows his stuff.

I hope that Looney commits to Duke this week, I just can't see Travis going to Duke if that is the case, not alot of playing time if you are spreading it out between Looney, Jefferson, and Travis. Alot of the Duke recruiting is based on the assumptions that Parker and Hood opt for the draft at the end of this year, throw them into the mix and it would really get crazy on that roster in 2014.

On the other hand if Hood and Parker go pro and Looney opts for Tennessee or Wisconsin, then Duke might be a very attractive option for Travis.
