What grade would you give the Gophers coaching in the win over Virginia Tech?
Losing by TD is convincing? Game was close the entire time and if not for a turnover in our end and a dropped pick six we probably win. This was a weird year. Probably should have upset a playoff team but got beat convincingly by Rutgers. Will give A for the win and admit that I have no idea what good looks like for the Gophers in this new environment.
Stats are almost identical. It probably felt worse because our o-line was so bad that day and it was a game we were favored to win.I thought that Rutgers was pretty clearly the better team that day
I don’t think I ever thought we were gonna win that game. It just was a Buzzkill from the beginning. Iowa at the half I thought we were gonna win — when we recovered the ball against Michigan on the onside kick I thought we were gonna win —- UNC when our distracted by his on-line schtick kicker lined up I thought we were gonna win. Rutgers, regardless of the stats, felt like a disaster and that we were gonna get beat from the jump, IMO. I thought we were gonna come out a house a fire trying to kill AK but we were flat as flat could be.Stats are almost identical. It probably felt worse because our o-line was so bad that day and it was a game we were favored to win.
Just my uninformed opinion. The team more than matched Virginia Tech's intensity. The feel in the stadium was that the Gophers were in control for most of the game. Even after the shaky start that should have been a hands to the face penalty on the defender that drove the blocker into Koi.A-/B+ - Showed a little rust early and treaded water in the 2nd half. That team wasnt that good....
