I'm trying to remember who won the coin toss - I thought it was Iowa and they deferred. If so, why did we choose to play on the east side of the field going west, where Max needed to look directly into the sun? With the start time, the setting sun was brutal going that direction. I'm guessing the sun was part of the reason he threw that interception. I get that if we chose the other side our receivers would have to look backwards into the sun, but I still think going west-to-east would have been the better field choice.

Here's the TV shot right before he threw the pic.

Iowa won the coin flip and deferred. We took the ball, they chose direction.

True, but I remind myself, would Minnesota ever pony up to bring in a better coach? No it would be a name coordinator or mid level conf coach with a 5 year turn around with way more losses for at least 3 years in the process..
(Ask Nebraska)
Unfortunately PJ is about the best we going to get....
I have to remind myself that there are other ways to find a good coach than to pony up more money. Five years ago Kalen Deboer was the OC at Indiana. There are plenty of other examples.

I gave a D. We went into halftime with a 7 point lead, but gave up 24 unanswered points in the second half.

To me, the staff had a good plan going into the game, but could not adjust to Iowa’s changes for the second half.

Really all Coaching grades should be PASS/FAIL.

Lost = Fail.

I'm sorry, but his trophy game record is enough to slash my contributions (Athletic department or NIL Collective) down to zero. It's is embarrassing.
He has more wins against wisconsin and Iowa than the last three coaches combined and has won six of seven against Nebraska.

Overall we tackle like shit upfront against good RBs. 92 and 14 tackle good to great — 45 is an absolute f’ing disaster somewhere along the line he forgot how to tackle.
I think it might be his arm. I’ve had a shoulder injury and couldn’t do crap with my arm in certain positions.Not saying it’s that but it could be. He was pretty solid as a freshman.

It's really been a 7+ year broken record about not being able to do in game adjustments. Staff has turned over, players have turned over, there's only been one constant. As I look back, I think about those last two games of 2017. I thought at the time there's something odd with those two shutout losses, but couldn't put my finger on it.

I know that Fleck does not believe in momentum. I do, to a large extent. In my mind half time came at exactly the wrong moment. We had momentum and it gets lost over half-time. And we are not good enough to reverse momentum vs. good teams. We have no one who can make a huge play offensively (score a long TD) or defensively (ie., a pick 6) that can swing the tide back in our favor vs. solid competition. My 2 cents.

This is the track record . Fleck is not an adjustment coach. Until we stop hiring interns for or coordinator jobs results we be the same.

F. Wish it could be an "H". As an old rpfessor, i feel liek writing on P.J.'s test paper. "F. Meaningless dogma."
