A. He didn't look like a redshirt freshman. The one forced pass at the end of the half that could have been intercepted was the one black mark. There were a couple more in the redzone thrown a bit too high or uncatchable, but there wasn't exactly open receivers to throw to, so that's forgivable. Otherwise....he was putting the ball on the mark on most throws. Drake is legit. Crazy big potential.

I think he looked pretty darn good. He came out hot. Maybe got a little trigger happy through the middle of the game before delivering solid throws when he needed to. For one game at least, he punched above his weight (his weight being his recruiting rankings and offer list). He's 20 years old making his first start. He wasn't going to have a perfect game. He took a bad sack, had a couple of bad, nearly disastrous throws, and a fluke INT. How much better does he look if was had above average pass catchers?

GopherMac, good review! Some of those balls thrown into double coverage were hard to watch.

I'm going to go A- simply because it wasn't perfect, no one is, but for a RS freshman that was very good. But more importantly, he showed more arm talent and an ability to change speeds and put it in windows than any other QB in my life not named Brosmer at the U. Without question, he is a baller. And the fact Brosmer has rubbed off on him heavily, bodes very well for the future and his growth.

As a side note, I hope they do not give Taylor 30 carries every game. He'll be ground beef by mid season, lol. He looks thicker and just overall, bigger and stronger but still. That's quite a bit of punishment when you factor in all the catches and blitz pick ups also. Super player. Love him.

Grading on a curve it was an A but without the curve I gave it a solid B. Overall I was very impressed and am very excited about him. There will be up and down weeks ahead this year but he has the best arm talent we have had since Weber…. Now we just need to find him an Eric Decker to throw to
Agreed! This is the problem I think we saw last night. The Receivers just are not top notch receivers (Geers and Taylor are the best even though Geers had a very rough night). The receivers just couldn't get open last night so he just didn't have many options. I was hoping to see him air it out and the 60 yard touchdown was a great play and throw, but it wasn't a bomb that could show us how his long passing skills look. I do believe he'll be just as good with the long throws, just not sure we have a receiver that can go deep.

Of course that was one game and I learned from last year when I didn't buy into Brosmer until the latter half of the season, so who knows, maybe one (or more..) in the receiver room will step up!

This is both wild and severely disappointing to see. I'm glad to see the coaching staff emerging from their shells a bit

He made one terrible throw that should have been intercepted in the end zone.

He made one throw to the sidelines that a better DB may have ran back for a TD.

He took a sack with 7 seconds left in the 1st half with a 3rd and goal upcoming so we had to burn a timeout and kick a FG instead of 1 more chance at a TD.

Outside of those 3 plays, he has excellent. So much potential.
