Week 7 Other Games Thread

Memphis is kicking Ole Miss butt right now. 24-14 at half (as I watch from SF airport). Memphis is 5-0 on the year, so not as surprising but would still be huge upset.

I suppose it was too much to hope that Purdue would keep it a one score game.

Yeah. But if I'm sure of anything this season right now. It's that we should be able to beat Wisconsin.

Northwestern is terrible. Makes me realize how bad we are.

Some guy named Wadley is running all over NW.

They have a helluva O-Line....there's no wonder why Iowa puts some good ones in the NFL.
Limegrover needs to take notice, he can't even get a lineman in the canadian league..

It was looking, all of a sudden, that Purdue and Northwestern could pull off important wins for us, and then, all of a sudden those hopes were gone.

Better for Iowa to win, we can still beat them. A one loss Northwestern beats us in every Tie breaker

Point well taken. I guess I was so clouded by my hate of Iowa that I assumed that any Iowa loss is a good loss.

NW sucks, IA sucks, WI sucks.
Just sayin...

Pat Narduzzi seems to have Pitt clicking quite well in his first season, though the defense is a major rebuilding project (though he seems like just the man to pull it off). I wonder if it's a reflection on Paul Chryst, who was pretty underwhelming as HC here. It's interesting to be at Pitt for grad school, I find it easy to slide into being a Pitt fan since they face many of same obstacles and seem to be prone to some of the same difficulties as the Gophers.

I am so tired of finishing below both WI and IA in the standings-- todays game is a must win for us. No matter how much everyone keeps saying IA and WI sucks we will have a tough time getting above both of them without a win today.

Without a win today, I'll bee more worried about bowl eligibility than Iowa and Wisconsin. We don't have the offense to win big games, so I'm trying to keep that in mind.

No bowl this year will be major set back for the program with a few weeks less practice time and we all will be second guessing all of the decisions throughout the year by the coaches. I also am hoping we do not get steam rolled by anyone like a few years back

Have to get to my flight, but I think Memphis is going to do it. Up 10, with ball, and 8 minutes left. Go Tigers.

What a crazy season. Another SEC West "power" struggling. Could Temple or Memphis make the playoff if they remain undefeated? Probably not, as you have to assume it'll be 4 of the 5 P5 champs, but who knows this year. You could easily have a 2 loss team win at least one of those leagues.

Michigan - Michigan State. Now there's a game. Despite what happens there, I'm still so shocked by Michigan's turn-around. We destroyed them last year. And now I'm expecting Michigan to be a top-tier program consistently based on their performance so far.

Cook is awesome, but he sure likes to hold the ball doesn't he?

Cook took too many sacks there (say that 10 times fast). Ended up being their demise.

If Michigan can beat Ohio State, I could see them going to the CFP. Hate saying it, but I'm a little jealous of their instant success.

Did the punter just throw the ball up for grabs after dropping it?
