Week 6 Other Games Thread

It's an interesting argument. Right now, SEC #4 is Alabama.

I'd take Alabama over all 5 of the teams you listed. The Big Ten is not as terrible as ESPN makes everyone think (although the Big Ten does need to revamp something), but the SEC is just really really really good. As a conference, they really are two steps above the next in my opinion. I'd say 10 of their 14 teams are top 30 (give or take) in the country.

The SEC west is good. The SEC east is a joke. A little more perspective and specificity in some media talking head's definition of the SEC (i.e. west vs. east) would be good as opposed to just giving the entire SEC conference more undue credit that is not deserved, imo. Georgia is not that good. South Carolina is not that good. Same with Florida, Tennessee and Missouri.

Mississippi St. jumping all the way to #3 in the AP poll is f'in ridiculous. They were just unranked a few weeks ago. They beat an LSU team that was only ranked in the first place because they are LSU and then A&M at home. Seriously, two people even gave them two first place votes. Not surprisingly, the AP poll favors the SEC compared to the coach's poll.

Who cares what the media thinks. At the end of the year, no SEC team will be undefeated. The SEC east is so bad that they have boy shot odd sending a team to the playoffs. Maybe you could get two out of the east, but I think they are all so even they'll be lucky to have even one team that has only one loss. Big 12 is far more likely to put two teams in the playoffs as they only have 3 good teams and Baylor still needs to play OU and TCU. Pac 12 will knock each other out too, so I can't see more than one team coming out of there (maybe Oregon or UCLA). I don't have any faith the Arizona teams won't lose a game our two to average teams like Utah or USC. If Michigan St or Ohio st can run the table they are in as well. Otherwise the big ten may not send anyone.

Saturday was way waymore entertaining than any pro football game!
