Week 4 Other Games Thread: 2020 Season

FSU is the Nebraska of the ACC. Dynastic past, mediocre present. Huge national brand, always wildly overrated, talent loaded, media badly wants them to succeed. As with Nebraska, they should never again be a) picked to compete for a division, b) ranked, or c) involved in a CGD matchup until a minimum of halfway through a season after multiple victories over ranked teams.

Nebraska is no more a national brand than Iowa is, at this time.

They won a national championship in 2014 and have competed in a college football playoff.

They’ve slipped a lot and are mediocre to bad but they have to be bad for another 10-15 years before they reach Nebraska status

Even when the Vikings don't entirely suck, they find new ways to suck.

Too bad they won't play anyone this year.

They had a good schedule, then 2020 happened.
With Mountain West coming back on line, they have room to add a couple of those teams. Probably Boise State.

Still, I believe the rules technically state that the G5 slot in the NY6 is only allowed to go to a G5 conference champion, even if BYU is ranked higher.

They'd have to be ranked in the top 12 to make it on their own. Not sure if that is possible given their schedule.

Yeah it would have to be full chaos for BYU to make it. That ad hoc schedule of theirs stinks, not really their fault, but it still stinks.

If the Gophers played that schedule and went undefeated ... I still wouldn't know what to think.
