Week 1 Other Games Thread

They sure are letting plays go even after the runner is stopped or even going backwards.
I wondered about that too.

Most games I remember they seem to try to whistle the moment the dude stops.

I really don't mind the way they called it in the ND Miami game ... but that is absolutely NOT the way I see it called in other games / at the bank ...

The "only flaw I see" statement makes me think Gopher Mac is in fact kidding
I’m not surprised that you picked up the sarcasm of the post I was quoting, but missed my sarcasm.

It was a pretty bad effort. In comedy writing, or comedy in general it’s called “putting a hat on a hat” and it’s considered hacky. It’s giving a nod to a clever line, and then trying to add a line attached to it, which can actually distract from the original funny line.

You hear it all the time during sports broadcasts (especially CBS golf announcers) that trip all over themselves trying to out-clever their colleagues. It’s basically yelling out “oh, listen to this, it’s like your joke, but not as funny”.

I saw your sarcasm, hopefully you didn't miss mine

We’ll see against a real DI defense.
Yes we will, not sure the Gophers showed proof of having a great D in the first game, but yes, we'll see in this game what they're made of! Seemed like they played off the line quite a bit with their DB's which to me didn't show allot of faith in their coverage skills, and those skills will undoubtedly be tested by this guy. Don't get me wrong here, I want the Gophers to dominate, I just was very surprised by how skilled this QB was in his first game, on the road.

Cal's O-line was brutal last year and one of the reasons they didn't go bowling, if not the major reason. Again, their receivers did not look good either so that's another plus for the Gophers..

UNC v. TCU. Spread (TCU -3.5). O/U 54.5. Chances of Jordan Hudson being at game (?). O/U on number of camera pans to Jordan Hudson if she is at the game (99.5)
