Video of Fleck locker room surfing after game

The players do enjoy winning. So do fans.

That's what you meant, right?
Was talking specifically about the locker room celebration......it is something fun the team does after a win, they clearly enjoy it.

Of things to get upset about or bothered by I really don't know why something like this bugs some people.

I personally think it's kinda weird and lost the novelty like 37 times ago. I don't think the program should ever be about the persona of the coach more than anything else. Fleck is just not my cup of tea, is all.

I mean the easy solution for that is to just not watch the video :). Most teams don't post a lot of locker room video, the Gophers do because this one is fun visually and somewhat unique.

Every team celebrates in the locker room after wins because the game is physical and winning is hard. There are fans that want the celebration level to match the quality of the opponent but I am glad that is not the way the team views things.

I really don't get why this bothers some people. Winning is fun.....the players enjoy it
For me...overall I don't care. But, I do worry that PJ is going get seriously hurt at some point here.
And, how long does it continue? He is 45 years old. But he's also crazy and it is fun...I do like when we win!

I don't disagree but it's not any different than KOC giving out 29 game balls every week. Every coach has his thing. Mine for coaching baseball is we win the series, tourney or game, guys get to pick what we're doing for a practice. It's always corn hole, or flag football or disc golf, etc. Its important for team bonding but also a reward for the hard work put in. This is one of those things, an opportunity for the guys to toss the leader around. Steal his shoes. Scare him. Whatever. It's fun and it's critical to team building.

Anonymous new player 1: "Bro ... do we really have to hold coach up after every win ... like dude really think he cracked?"

Anonymous player 2: "Bro I know ... you just gotta do it, it's a cult thing ..."

There are things that happen outside your dour, ignorant personal bubble. Its called "life". Try it.

Appreciate the post and the sentiment.

Massive (for me, in my book) difference between KOC game balls and your experience vs. Fleck crowd surfing: yours and KOC's make it about the players, rather than about the coach !

Very true!! But we also have no clue what goes on in that locker room or how this started, unless I missed it which is very possible. This could be something the players started, it could have been tossed out as one in a possible numerous number of scenarios they picked from. I don't know. And while I agree it's different(even weird, lol) it's hard to judge it as a selfish act of the coach without knowing context.

Come on 60s, 45 is the new 25. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

That's a fair point.

I have my doubts that the players started it or want(ed) it, but I reserve the right to stand corrected. :)

You have no idea what the players like. Transference of your own feelings is a sign of a sheltered mind.
