I think Brewster's greatest flaw as head coach has been an inability to
find good, loyal assistant coaches who know how to run a Big Ten
offense and defense. This revolving door of assistants make it look
like the program is out of control.
One of the reasons why it is nice to hire a proven winning coach is that he
usually comes with several guys he knows and trusts that can implement what
he wants to do. Brewster never had that - he is good at a lot of things such
as recruiting and motivating people but he is still searching for people that
can coach a winning offensive and defensive gameplan.
As of right now, I would take Glen Mason back and I never thought I would
ever say that, but could we keep Brewster as our recruiting coordinator??
I guarantee you -- the next coach we get will come in with successful head
coaching experience. I would bet anyone 1000.00 on that one.
