Typical reaction to win

When a coach is unable to recruit players that are multi-dimensional and instead gets one dimensional players, the result will be more losses than wins.
Anyone who thinks that Ben Johnson is the best recruiter Minnesota can muster has an extremely low expectation.
The Barn is certainly missing the glitz and glamour of an NBA venue, but if patrons are coming to be pampered, then they aren't basketball fans, primarily. Instead, they are self-centered narcissists. Those types of fans can go elsewhere, in my opinion.
Sitting in a tundra chilled drafty barn is not pampered. It's a communist gulag.

Nope the communist building is in Madison. What we have is the Empire State building of college basketball and you would rather we had the Sphere. To each there own. Now, we may find agreement if you want to destroy old Yankee Stadium to build a new one. But, the building has very little, if any, reason for recruits not playing for the Gophers.

The reason people flock to the Taj Mahal is for its enduring brilliant architecture. The reason there are empty seats at Wrigley Field is nobody wants a chunk of concrete to land on their heads before they run to the one bathroom in the facility.

There are no empty seats at Wrigley. 😏

It was a good win for the team! Is this a springboard to making the tournament…….NO……. PLEOPLE need to be realistic. This team is still bad and it needs a change of leadership.
You need to cheer for the Kansas City Chiefs

Or they just might want to be able to take a wiz without having to walk down and back up several flights or stairs if they have upper deck seats.

It's not difficult to get up and down those stairs. It's much harder to go get to the bathroom at the X or Target Center. The seats are much steeper than in the Barn. The only downside is no cup holders at Williams. Give me Williams over those other venues.

There are amenities at Xcel and Target that cannot be found at Williams. Yet, cupholders is just one of many.

Sure, but cupholders is the big one. Admittedly I am a basketball purist. I despise canned music during timeouts and breaks. I like the sounds of the gym, the racket of fans talking over each other, the smack being tossed by coaches, bench, and players. This is the joy of the game, not some foodies delight in the foyer.

A new arena (or drastically remodeled Williams Arena) would not be required to play canned music during time outs & breaks. There's not much time for that anyway at the Barn because of the commercials they play on the main scoreboard.

Yes it is. Especially when the Barn is full or more than 80% capacity though the basketball program has taken measures to mitigate that issue.

I have been at both full and empty. I still stand by my statement.

None of the things you mention have to be lost in a new stadium and a new stadium doesn't mean a a boiled hotdog in a spun sugar bun won't be available. You're not a purist at all. The term is curmudgeon or luddite.

This has to be a parody right? You are doing the "Weird Al" version of stadium reviews or something...

Williams has its charms but the "Empire State Building"? Easier to get to the bathrooms than the X?

I will have what this guy is having!

Ever park yourself in the nosebleeds at the X? It's like going up and down the ladder for your local water tower. 😏

Alright, let's compromise. Keep the exterior of Williams and gut the interior. Then build a little Taj Majal that seats 8000 with escalators that run up and down the aisles for the 4000 patrons who wish they could drive their scooters into the building.

True. I think the intent of the architect was to bring forth the ideal of a rollercoaster ride to the experience. Except, instead of seating before the infinity fall of the ride, you use a pack mule and sherpa to guide you to your seat at the X in the upper levels. I would say that some kind of weird astro mechanics is involved that keeps you from falling down to the ice contrary to all known physics of gravity. Maybe I should rethink the graceful industrial concrete of Williams as an homage to the Pyramids of Giza or the interior of the Bastille.
