Here are notes from Tubby's post game interview on 1500. These are not verbatim but close. Tubby was more than 10 minutes late to the interview.

Tubby on taking care of the basketball...We can't win a game when we turn it over like that. Shot clock violations. We practiced hard. Obviously we're not having as competitive as practices as we have to have. Ball handling has gone backwards. I was hoping we'd be more conscious, but it just isn't happening. Everyone is contributing to turnovers, but our post players especially.

Tubby on seniors (Spencer was very critical of seniors in his question to Tubby)...
Unfortunately we don't have the seniors to lead like that. I have to do a better job too. I always talk to our players about respect. Players will follow you, but they won't if you don't take care of your business. We got off to a rough start with fouls, lack of, you know mentally. Picking up two fouls early, it's an indication that you just aren't ready to play. We had to change the way we had to attack the game. We had some good play from Oto. Mo gave us some good minutes he just turned the ball over too much. Again, leadership needs to come from within the team. The best teams have good teammates.

Tubby on making 3s in college basketball....
We need some offense from somewhere.

Go Gophers!!

typical tubby........he doesn't understand that this team is his players, his system, his motivation (or lack of) , he created this mess. Never recruited a point guard to replace Cobbs, has NOT developed the bench at all, the plus-minus on the bench players are evidence of the ineptitude in his recruiting and his ability to coach his team up....The starters have taken big steps back, and he refuses to take any real responsibility.....the biggest losers on this team are not the seniors, it is Tubby and his staff...........

It really sounded like he was just out of answers. It feels like the excitement from the WI games was months ago, not 6 days ago. These last two games have been really brutal.

Yep . . .

I think Rodney and Trevor deserve some blame (obviously) but pushing the lack of leadership on the seniors bothered me. We lack leadership, from everywhere (exception of maybe Dre).

Understatement of the century. You've got time to right the ship, but its got to start now. I don't think a team that has collapsed like this gets a chance to redeem themselves in March if they go 8-10. Got to grab some wins. A win against IU could show everyone that we are back.

When your stealing money I would be smiling too

Stealing money from who? The Gophers are in the tournament (for now) relax a bit before you say a coach is stealing money from a university. At least we're not Penn State or 200+ other division one teams. Probably the stupidest thing I've ever seen posted on this board and that's saying a lot.

Spencer specifically said he was seeing no senior leadership and asked for Tubby to comment. It's not like he said it unprompted.

We don't have a legit coach. Kentucky fans were 100% right to force him out.

Oh ok. I'd have to hear to know how I'd react to it. The fact that the entire team has quit on him isn't the fault of Rodney and Trevor, their is blame to pass around. I think things are so bad it looks silly if he doesn't take quite a bit of the blame.

That said, I didn't hear his comments, so I might be speaking out of context.

This. No one on this team wants to step up. Mbakwe should be the guy but isn't. Williams was the guy during the NIT run and early in the year but apparently has forgotten how to do it. Dre Hollins has the ability to be the guy but doesn't do it on a consistent basis. There is no one on this team that is willing to step up and stop the bleeding. If anything the one guy I saw looking for the ball tonight was Walker but his game is so limited he can't be the one to try and carry the team.

Mo, Wally and to a lesser extent Dre, Oto and Julian. Whoa, looks like we have a new starting 5.

The ole sports cliche comes to mind, "You cant fire all the players". He recruited these guys and they either have stopped listening or he cant get his message across so they can understand it.

When a team that consists primarily of players ranked 3 stars and less play a team of primarily 5 stars this is what happens. The better athletes resulted in intense ball pressure and wilted the less talented players. No coach can overcome this talent deficit. This season was lost when Tubby did not recruit a bona fide point guard . This is a slow, poor ball handling team that can only marginally improve with coaching. The coaches in the Big 10 know that all you have to do is shade Dre to his left and pressure him and the offense will bog down. If he was capable of driving hard to the rim , this would alleviate a lot of problems.

Gold Vision is correct.

Early in the yr. they played like they were having fun and knew what they were doing. Now they look lost, and have no drive. Tubby;s teams seem not to improve, and other teams in the big 10 do. Gophers get worse.

Bleed, you have a misspelling in the thread title. You're clearly lacking senior leadership. No offense.

@gophersnow: Soph Mo Walker after the game: “I don’t even want to share what happened in the locker room.” Dre Hollins said it was quiet. Hmm. #Gophers

Go Gophers!!

Ohio St. has one 5 star recruit on the team. Their 2nd and 3rd best players were rated no better than Andre Hollins and Joe Coleman were out of High School. I don't think the talent difference is that much. More than anything, we're missing leaders. Ohio St. has two in Thomas and Craft.

I'm going to be praying for the guy. Besides him and the team needing some prayers right now, it's really the only thing I can think to do.

Am I imagining this or did Tubby talk over and over early in the season about how this team had great chemistry, great leadership, etc., etc.?

I hope Tubby lit a fire under Rodney's ass because he needs it. His play this last stretch has just been simply inexcusable.

I wish when Trevor picked up Tubby he would have carried him out the door

Shot 29% from the field and 13% from three.

Hardly seems possible.

Certainly they missed a number of close in shots. However, overall they are having to take more and more difficult, late in the clock shots because of their horrible ball movement. The offense and the effort in it are affecting the shooting big time- as is the confidence factor.
