Trevor Mbakwe speaks on his status, trial, Memphis and the Gophers

Too bad that is actually how it works tho ... just ask the Duke Lacrosse team, Kobe Bryant, Ben Roethlesberger, etc.

I wouldn't exactly put Big Ben in the same scenario as the lacrosse team and Kobe. A completely hammered girl in a bathroom guarded by Big Ben's body guards so her friends can't go in there doesn't exactly scream Not Guilty. Had the case been handled better by the police, there may have been a case.

But there's definitely some interesting facts favorable to trevors case that are surfacing.

Thanks for posting. I hope Trevor's trial goes smoothly and this can all be put behind him.

Yeah true about how a persons word can ruin a reputation.. but in all the examples you listed the men at least had seen or knew of the girls. That's why this is so frustrating bc trevor had no idea what was going on. I had no idea the justice system allowed cases to go this far off of word alone. Seems wrong. I feel as if this should have been dropped right away based on lack of evidence.

Gotcha. Thanks. There was a roster with pictures that I saw and it looked like several of Trevor's teamates looked very similar. Tough question - Do you believe Dodson may have been responsible?

http://www.startribune.com/blogs/68579302.html - The woman described her attacker as approximately 6-6, 190 pounds. She said he was wearing a white shirt and black shorts.

Thats something that jumped out at me right away, if her attacker appeared 6'-6", 190 he was pretty slim, Trevor's shoulders are as wide hell and he looks no where near that weight.

All three were sexual assault charges that were never found guilty and yet their reputations are tarnished probably forever, and some even faced/got suspensions.

I'm not saying for certain that any or all of the females in the cases were lying, but either way they were never found guilty in court, yet are all viewed unfavorably by a lot of people including their boss.

Its just the way the world works ... it is unfortunate that one persons word can nearly ruin anothers life, true or not.

In all 3 of those incidents the people did it, they just got off.

That sounds more like Dodson to me, seeing as he does play for Kentucky id assume he's a sleaze bag. Plus people said he looked like Trevor in the picture she looked at. Bet hes guilty

The Duke Lacrosse team was exonerated by the North Carolina AG and the prosecutor of the case was disbarred.

Roethlisberger probably, Kobe almost definitely...the Duke lacrosse team? One hundred percent certain they did not do anything.

I had no idea you were at all 3 events? Why didn't you speak up sooner? I am sure the prosecution could have really used your testimony.

Lol @ the idea that Roethlesburger is "more" innocent than Kobe ... even the police know that's not true.

It's pretty safe to come to the conclusion that Big Ben and Kobe are both scumbags.

I love how when people (not all, just generalizing) want Trevor Mbakwe to play they scream innocent until proven guilty until they are blue in the face, but when it comes to Roethlesburger, Duke Lacrosse, Kobe Bryant, and any other celebrity that is never proven guilty, they are no longer innocent. Makes me think if Trevor were a student at Wisc. everyone here would be saying, I can't believe they let that felon play.

I guess I just took "Almost Definitely" to be a more likely event than "Probably", I could be wrong and that is actually not how it was meant.

My choice of words has to do with the length of time since the incidents, not to any degree of guilt. Kobe's took place over seven years ago, and plenty has come out in that time to make me believe that he was guilty. Not enough has come out in Roethlisberger's case yet. While he most likely did commit a crime, too much is still unknown for me to have a firm opinion on it either way.

Makes sense ... I took it in the wrong way, my apologies.
