who are they. it better not be ED Hightower or we are screw.

BS Charge call on Westbrook. Now they'll kick out Iverson after Colt got hacked by #50.

*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# Big Ten refs!!! They ruin every damn game!!!

Same horsecrap officiating you always get in the Big Ten. Tubby doesn't work the refs nearly enough.

That was intentional??????????? Completely ridiculous!!!!!

New rules on "intentional" foul: Spartans get 6 free throws, the ball, the possession arrow, 12 extra paper cups of Gatorade and Al Nolen has to play the rest of the game with his short pants hiked up to his neck like Urkel.

Refs aren't the problem tonight--crappy shooting and silly fouls (Nolen, Johnson, etc.) are the problem.

HOSEA - that is an effing riot!!!!!! LOL This officiating has been putrid so far. I understand the home team may get a call here & there, but this is FRACKING STUPID.

They haven't been great, but not as bad as Hightower. The charge on Westbrook was terrible.

so he ref the most big ten game and 3rd in foul call.. what your point?

The intentional and the Westbrook play were awful calls but Iverson probably should have been tossed. That looked dirty.

Iverson literally had a defender hanging on him. Yes it was an intentional elbow but if you aren't going to call the foul on the defender what else is he supposed to do?

The refs overall have not been bad (still 60/40 on everything for the home team) but the Westbrook charging call and the Cobbs intentional were huge momentum killers.

60/40 is bad. No team should have to play against the refs. Its an unfair advantage and it should not happen in any situation.

I didn't think it was dirty at all. I was always taught that if you get a rebound and a player wants to start slapping your arms and hanging on you tuck the ball under your chin and turn with your elbow out.

not watching the game but the statline...

Free throws
MSU 13-21
MN 5-7

It is called protecting the ball!!

the foul distributuion in the game was horrible...sampson and the like were hacked andhacked and hacked on our end wiht no foul, yet the slightest touch on msus end they went to the line..

I think you have every right to be upset at the Refs tonight. That being said, it was a very hard game to officiate. The Refs didn't call too many "ticky-tack" fouls and let the kids play for the most part. Note the number of possession arrow changes for both teams. That said, I do think the Charging foul on Westbrook was just a bad call. The intentional foul was questionable, (I think it initially looked worse then what it was.......it was not an intentional foul as he was going for the block with a reach around) The Iverson elbow probably influenced this call and that should not happen.

Good Luck the rest of the year. Your team played with guts and great intensity. Minn. could very easily be in title contention come March. I have erased my prediction for MSU and added another lose to MSU when we play you at "The Barn".

Thanks for allowing me to post on your board, I have enjoyed it.......see you again in 10 days.

The free throw disparity wasn't necessarily poor officiating. The foul disparity was, free throws weren't. They simply were better at getting the ball to the rim. We didn't get the ball inside nearly enough and too often settled for crappy jumpers.

I didn't have much problem with the officiating tonight at all except the intentional foul on cobbs. For the most part it was officiated like a game should be with the home team always getting the close calls, the same way we have it at home. I would expect those close calls to go the Gophers way in the rematch.

The charge on Westbrook in the first half was horrible but I think that has more to do with officials now days have NO idea what a charge or block are anymore and there is zero consistancy in that call so it's usually a coinflip which way the call goes.

Iverson should have been given a technical on the elbow.

The call I cannot stand is the intentional foul and it goes far beyond this game and the Cobbs play. I understand why they didn't want guys fouling real hard and causing injury or starting a fight and you can't have them just grabbing a jersey of a guy way in front of you to prevent a clear layup, but Cobbs did neither and made a legit swipe at the ball, didn't foul him hard at all, never put him in danger, and certainly didn't grab him or his jersey to prevent him from laying it in. That call had a chance to completely turn this game, which it did for awhile but the difference from Purdue was the officials didn't take over the game after it.

All i want from officials is to make the necessary calls but to let the players decide the game. I also want them to be consistant so players know how a game is being called and can adjust properly, if they don't and keep fouling, then it's there own fault.

I thought tonight the officials we're in the background and the players we're the ones who decided the game.

Aside from the intentional foul (which wasn't too tragic), after the early charge calls I think the refs did a good job. We had many silly fouls while MSU played their fouls carefully to have a lot of room at the end of the game. Certainly better than many games I've seen recently.

Thanks, IT is good to see a fan that can win with class! Unlike the badgers biaches.

I was griping about the refs a lot at halftime, but tbf they were good and let the game flow in the 2nd half.
