Time Is Running Out: 19 regular-season wins will shag Gophers a NCAA bid

We can probably discontinue this (or at least put it on COVID pause) if the Gophers lose twice this week. 😉

For a "must win at home", that's certainly not how I was viewing it at tip! Huge victory if there's any chance for a tournament berth.

We still got a shot. Need win 2 of 3 on the road (IA, OSU and Whisky) to make it com to fruition

The 50/50 games are in doubt. 6-2 will be tough with Iowa and Indiana left

If this undermanned team gets an NCAA bid Johnson should be BTN Coach of the Year. I’d be thrilled with 7 BTEN wins and an NIT bid.

It's getting late early for the Gophers NCAA Tourney hopes.

On the bright side, I thought they would be eliminated before Christmas. Still being even remotely in the hunt by Groundhog Day is a pleasant surprise.

If they can make it out of Weakling Wednesday at the Big 10 Tourney that would be fantastic, or even better, finishing 10th to get a bye. Still attainable.

So we basically need to win out on the top two sections (which I think is doable) and that gets us to 8 wins in the Big Ten.

Then we need to win 2 of these 5: at Iowa, Indiana, Purdue, at Ohio St, Wisconsin

Call me crazy, but I don't think that's asking for a miracle yet.
No, it's not, especially with Curry back playing well and TT able to take on more of a role if need be.

Are our NIT odds pretty good? I'd be thrilled with an NIT bid in year 1.
Puke.

Anytime you talk NIT, I don't care where your team is at its garbage, puke in your shoes time.

I'd rather they sit at home and learn to crochet than play in the NIT.

Garbage junk I would turn it down every time. I wouldn't even pick up the phone should they call and I don't care what our roster looks like.

Well, thats just a bad take

Explain your thinking here - you would rather not play at all than play in the NIT because......

So you want to give a liftime contract to a coach who just missed the NCAAs and made the NIT instead

Excellent logic
Nope, I give a lifetime contract to the coach that says the NIT is for losers and wins enough to dance and stays there forvever.
NIT = Friendship bracket/Bronze bracket championship

I knew this would fire some of you up. Come at me, I'm bored today.

The NCAA hopes are basically dead. Need to go 6-4 to lock down an NIT birth. That's the goal.

17 wins us into the NIT? without any wins in the Tourney.
17-12 seems reasonable to me. If 19-10 is good enough for the NCAA's, 2 wins less should still be NIT worthy. It depends a bit on the rest of the B1G. They will generally take about 2 teams per conference.
