This is what I thought as well. There were a handful of "fans" who thought the Gophers should have accepted the shutout and laid down last year. I didn't get that line of thinking.

We have the right to use our timeouts as we see fit, just like Kirk does.

Maybe I'm just not partisan enough, but I thought the Ferentz three timeout thing was kind of a funny reaction to Fleck's timeout. I'd love it if we could beat him this year.

Floyd and the timeouts

Down 35-0 to Iowa last year in the battle for Floyd of Rosedale, Fleck called timeout with 19 seconds left in hopes of avoiding a shutout. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz responded by calling all three of his timeouts. Afterward the 35-7 Iowa win, Ferentz explained, "We figured we'd take Floyd with us and leave the timeouts here.''

Just re-watched the 2010 game. Interesting that Ferentz called a unnecessary timeout with the Gophers in victory formation.

Must have wanted to leave the timeouts in Minnesota...along with Floyd.
