The deal is near finalized for #UCLA football to play its home games in SoFi Stadium.

I’m glad we played at UCLA when we did.

I have little interest in a road trip to UCLA to go to so fi. Granted locals may think otherwise.

Neither stadium is anywhere near the campus. SoFi is shiny and new and will be a better environment for UCLA.

That said, it completely lacks any draw or tie to college football. But yhen again, the Rose Bowl on January first is an amazing experience.

The Rose Bowl at any other time, is a dump.

We tried this in 1982. It didn't work out to well for us but times and stadiums have changed.

Has a great famers market in the tailgate/parking lots!

The city of Pasadena has a lease with UCLA through 2044, so there will be a legal fight over this, so I think we may have another chance at a game at the Rose Bowl, in addition to us playing in the Rose Bowl game sometime soon.

Yea who would want to watch college football outside in that climate.

It's LA, if they are good the fans will be there (see USC).

Had tickets to go last year, but had to cancel last minute. Bummed my only Rose Bowl experience was Wisconsin v Stanford in Y2K. My parents refused to leave me home alone over New Years (good call).

I disagree with your assessment of the Rose Bowl. For an afternoon game at any time of year, I think it's a fabulous setting with San Gabriel Mountains in the backdrop.

It is quite a hassle to exit from, but that's not unique.

This would really suck. I get why it's tough to make an on campus stadium work in Westwood but I wish they at least tried.

There's no way the residents of that area are going to allow a stadium there with the associated traffic etc.
