If it is due to grades, they would probably still be on the team next year but miss the bowl game I assume.

Including the coach. His leadership seems reactive vs proactive with his players off the field. Traveling on the way back machine, a good coach lost his job for losing touch with his players off the court-Jim Dutcher...Talk all you want about 8 wins in 3 of 4 years. This is not a program on the rise anymore. The program and administration keep giving more reasons for those of us left to bail. Reap what you sow.
 






Called a buddy in Vegas to make a wager on WSU. All sportsbooks have suspended betting. Dam, that would have been easy money. They will lose by 21+. The good thing is we are so used to this garbage in Men's BB and FB it doesn't even shock anymore.

Is Claeys losing control of his players?

Beth Goetz not here anymore to help run a tight ship. Shenanigans are running amok.

Jerry Kill was a stern disciplinarian, but fair.

Does this mean the players do not respect Claeys' authority?

We need Jerry Kill back in some capacity to help the football program.
 



Questioning Seth Green's leadership is fair IMHO. He should be setting good examples.

Undisciplined on the field, undisciplined off the field. During the earlier suspensions it was a black eye for the program as the suspensions were continually brought up during the telecasts. This will really look bad for the program on a national stage come bowl game time. Ten players.....whether academic or team rule related or both this is exactly what this program did NOT need!
 

I hope this isn't a cheating scandal......

You seriously cannot make up the sheeeeet that continues to happen to Gopher athletics. The years roll by and the names and faces change, but the a$$ backwardness of the program just continues unabated.

If I had to pick I would rather have a cheating scandal vs them assaulting or some how hurt others physically. Regardless this is getting tiresome and appears these players have no ability to pick good choices and know right from wrong.
 

I bet Coyle is glad he left Syracuse.......

Xs & Os Claeys need some charisma real quick or he is going to lose this team. The lack of respect for the coach by some players is showing.

Mark Coyle need to insert his leadership authority and take care of this mess now or he and Claeys are both going down. Didn't Beth Goetz have monitors looking after players?

Are the repeat offenders going to be kicked off the team?

Like Jerry Kill made clear - you are stealing from the university if you don't do your part of the bargain.
 

We might want to get some facts before casting blame.

Probably won't happen but does this give Coyle an excuse to fire Claeys? I think he wants to hire his own guy but just couldn't pull the trigger to fire an 8-4 coach as it's hard to justify. Won't happen but I can dream at least.
 

What's up with Coyle? Seems like Mega Tongue (or was that flat tongue?) was always being quoted and was very visible. Even Maturi seemed to be more public. Nothing from Coyle......

If true, I doubt it was over a bad grade or two. If related to academics, it probably means someone has been cheating which would be bad and unfortunate given recent APR success. If something else, well that's probably something really bad.

Let's hope it turns out to be some harmless shenanigans. However if it turns out to be a significant scandal, put a fork in the program.

I think if there is any substance to this Claeys is gone. Indiana fired its coach for having off field related issues
